Why buy a white noise machine when you can get an air filter? This is my second one, the first is three years old and it's still trucking along. It will make a weird noise if you don't replace the filter. The white light bulb stopped working and I wish it had another color besides white blue and green. But there isn't really anything better on the market that I know of. I've bought a lot of air filters now. The kid loves it.

Noisy...unless you WANT white noise...not suitable for bedroom.
Works as described...not really tested long enough to rate effectiveness; but does seem to help with pet dander in my office. My office also serves as a guest room; and unless you WANT white noise I find it a noisy machine. I often shut it off while on the phone.

Air is not clean after running nonstop... somethings wrong.
Really unhappy with this purchase. I got this about 2 weeks ago. My 2 daughters share a small room that gets very little ventilation. We also have a very moldy basement that makes me feel like the air up here is full of spores. I bought this mainly for the air purifying purpose but knew that they would LOVE the light feature as well. I like that it's small enough to fit on their nightstand in the center of the room. The color is cute. But the good stops there. I had this running on high for days and noticed zero improvement in the smell or air quality of the room. Now, I generally keep it on speed 1 24/7 (we never turn it off) and occasionally if they are out of the room I will also utilize the UV option. I really don't see any difference in air quality. Looking at the filter, I see a bit of dust already so yes, it is circulating air but for some reason isn't giving us the nice crisp clean air that we expected. When I purchased this, I also bought the Aeramax 100, the Jese Air purifier, and another Germ Guardian desktop (same as this but no nightlight). This unit was the one I was most excited about, so I plugged it in first. After plugging in the Aeramax, I noticed an immediate difference in the air. In my bedroom, I placed it there on high for a few hours and shut the door to really let it do it's thing. After a while, I walked in the room with my daughter's and we all inhaled deeply and said "Wow!" ... the air was so nice and fresh and crisp... like that clean air after a nice rainstorm. That was the Aeramax... and I've never gotten that result with the Germ Guardian. That being said, I never even opened the box on the adult Germ Guardian... just tried to process a return since I clearly don't want to give it a try after my experience with this one... and Amazon is saying it is not eligible for return! Seriously?? I did not even OPEN the box. It's completely sealed and brand new. Meanwhile, Amazon will allow me to return this kids version, but my kids will protest losing their $65 nightlight. So now I'm stuck with 2 useless air purifiers, and pretty unhappy about it. And by the way, I spent weeks researching all the purifiers, and read nearly every review. I went with Germ Guardian for 2 of our rooms because I really trusted their name and thought surely they will be the experts in clean air. Not sure why it's not even close to what I thought it would be. And one more thing... why oh why is a product thats designed for a child's room have the Prop 65 warning about lead. The manual even says to wash your hands with lots of soap immediately after touching the cord. Scary!!! My daughter's are now paranoid about contact with the cord, and I'm a bit worried too (is it releasing lead particles in the air as well? Is it off-gassing??) but I am mostly more annoyed that we have the world's most expensive nightlight and still have stale and stuffy air. Help? Anyone?

I am super impressed with this air filter. It has made a huge difference in my quality of sleep. Pet dander was really bothering me. I'm glad I took time read reviews and decided on this one. Very satisfied

Dual purpose use, love it!
I was seeking a white noise machine, as I sleep unusual hours and live in a noisy area. A friend suggested the larger version made by this brand, as she uses one , and assured me it'd be enough to provide decent white noise. I thought it was a great idea. My bedroom is tiny, so I opted for the "kids" version. She was right. it's perfect. Now outside noise is blocked out while the air is being purified. It works great for my needs. It's not loud on the lowest setting but if you want near total silence, than this is not for you. I love the size and appearance as well. Great for my chronic asthma, too. The night light is an adorable extra bonus.

Very Pleased
I have two young daughters with allergies, one with mild asthma, and both that tend to bury themselves under the covers at night until they’re sweating. I bought this for their bedroom for the purpose of improving the air quality for improved respiratory function as well as comfort, decreasing germs in general, and to also replace their white noise machine with a projector on top that we’ve had forever. This purifier is proving to be a great decision thus far. I could tell a noticeable difference in the room after having this on for just a few hours. It felt lighter, crisp & airy. Some have said that the projector didn’t wasn’t clear/focused but ours definitely is. My girls really enjoy the fact that we can change out the theme of what’s projected. Our previous white noise machine was good for drowning out outside sounds but poor sound quality. I love the hum of this one. It isn’t super quiet which I find to be a good thing. Oh, and it keeps the room cool with the amount and rate of moving air circulating. I’d absolutely buy this again, and highly recommend to parents.

El producto nuevo.es una calidad...pero debería la compañía de mandar un extra filtro..porque hoy en día...la limpieza del aire se ve en una semana .y el filtro trabajando todo el día...no dura ni dos semanas cuando ya lo debes remolazar

Good for a bedroom with a pet
If you have a room with a hamster or some other little critter and you can shut the door, this works well. The fan is a nice white noise sound for those who prefer that for sleeping, the nightlight works well, and the purifier itself does a fine job so long as you remember it is designed for a bedroom or office, not for your whole house, so you'll want to make sure the door is shut at least a handful of hours in the day while it runs.
