Rather difficult to put together needs 2 people but it works great. Excellent back saver! Highly recommend.

Best crane for the money

This winch is not hard to assemble. At first I bolted the winch on upside down. I have short fingers and I still had no trouble reaching the bolt hole inside the square tube. I taped the nut on inside the tube just to get it started, then had to take it back out when I noticed the winch upside down. It lifts a about a 120 lb trencher for me with no problem. Anything you lift. should be strapped on to the platform. I gave it a 4 rating because I believe the cranes with a stabilizing leg on the ground would probably be more stable. I really don't need that for my trencher and this equipment goes together with in 1 minute. I would buy this again instead of any other for my needs.

Functionality

Great idea, great product. Easy install, easy use. ( suggesting make more holes on the bottom 2” shank so the lift could be adjusted closer to the open tailgate to hold more weight.)

Great product idea with a suggestion or two

The media could not be loaded. This product is exactly what I need to load and unload my F150. As others have mentioned, the assembly is a little tricky when it comes to one of the bolts that attaches the winch to the receiver tube. I have included a video that shows a hack to help you get that bolt attached. I also agree that the winch cable is a mess. Too long but also has a high tendency to unspool wildly when lowering. I replaced the steel cable with a nylon rope. Works much better.

Tricky assembly but does the job

Once put together it's a nice unit. I haven't tried it with any substantial weight yet, but I plan on using it to lift about a 160lb soil compactor and it looks like it will easily do the job. If I'm able to hunt this year I'll use it for game too. Assembling the winch to the column tube was a huge pain. It's a terrible design. Both screws that hold the winch need the washer and nut to be installed inside a 2" square column tube. I fumbled around with that for too long and then read another reviewer who said he used tape and a box wrench. I taped the bottom of the box wrench so that the washer would not fall through, inserted it in the tube, lined it up with the screw and was able to tighten pretty easily. If not for that tip I would have gone insane trying to install that screw.

Works Great

The swivel lift is really great for lifting heavy items into the back of my F250 pickup. I did make a couple of modifications, one to the winch to keep the cable from getting pinched and the other was adding a piece of plywood to the lifting platform (since the lifting platform is diamond shaped mesh welded to the platform frame, the first items I lifted caused the mesh to sag on either side of the center support. The plywood distributes the weight more evenly and prevents the sagging of the mesh). I most recently was able to load three, thirty-gallon garbage cans full of apples into the back of my truck by using the swivel lift. It does "wobble" a little bit going up but it really does work great and is much better than trying to lift heavy items by hand.

Gets job done, mostly. Needs refinement. Disappointment

Assembly issues: nuts on winch. They should put holes opposite side big enough to install nut with long socket. Should have a way to secure platform out of way when transporting. Too much unnecessary cable on winch ( stock product so they just left length). Removing cutting and reinstall cable is a big deal. Placement ideal would be install winch other side with roller for cable through. That way handle does not get in way of lifted item. Guide roller (or something) gets stuck towards bottom. Platform does not go all the way without jiggling it - jerks when released. The whole thing is a bit wobbly. Idea is nice, just needs some refinement. Purchased to move a gas snow thrower. (150lbs). Didn't work to big. Video shows a person loading a snow thrower, which is why I purchased. Now stuck with worthless.
