Great Carry-On Companion for Organized Travel

I travel a lot for work and I’ve been looking for a bag that can pull triple duty. This one ticks most of the marks. Overall, this is an excellent plane travel companion for people who like to stay organized. Pros: Compartments! There are three main compartments on the bag. 1) laptop sleeve - the sleeve fits up to 15” laptops. Slimmer profiles fit better; I had a difficult time fitting my personal gaming laptop but I was eventually able to fit it securely. 2) large main compartment - this will be perfect for a change of shoes if I’m walking to a client’s office or to hold some small packing cubes containing clothes. 3) the Swiss army pocket - this one is a bit slimmer, but it’s where I keep my wallet, keys, sunglasses, and power bank. The two small zippered pockets on the front are perfect for holding boarding passes and a passport to help stay organized. The expandable side pocket is a great feature, but I had no problem fitting my swell water bottle in the pocket without opening the zipper. Lightweight! It’s super light and not too bulky when collapsed. That’s important in case I need to pack into my checked luggage for some reason. Luggage Valet strap! This was one of the biggest selling points for me. I wish more bags had the simple strap on the backrest to allow you to rest the backpack on luggage using the retractable handle. Cons: Appearance. I purchased the backpack in black. It’s an attractive bag and I love the fun inner lining and I like the small touches of faux leather accents. I just wish it looked a bit less campus and a bit more professional. It’s hard to find a professional looking bag built for constant travel that will comfortably hold a laptop and all of the trappings of an airplane carry-on. It’s even harder to find one at a reasonable price point (I’m looking at you, Tumi). I ended up removing the zipper pulls and it helps tone down the look. It’s not incredibly comfortable. The straps are padded but aren’t supportive, so I can see how walking any moderate distance could lead to some shoulder/back pain.

Great bag. Annoying zipper.

Love the size and durability of this bag. Lots of compartments. The one thing I don't like is that the zipper on one compartment keeps getting stuck on the lining. Super annoying, and I'm worried that the lining will eventually tear when I pull it out of the zipper.

Overall good quality

I have always enjoyed Vera Bradley products. I have one issue with this backpack. The lining often gets caught in the zipper in one of the main sections. Sometimes a quick fix, sometimes not.

great backpack for travel

bought this to use in place of a tote bag on a recent trip. Was a little surprised when it arrived that it was not the typical quilted cloth material. It's still very pretty, well made, sturdy, well designed. Turns out, I was very pleased that it was more durable. I think it will hold up much better than the usual quilted material. There's a separate section for laptop or ipad, another in the front for documents, pens, etc. The center section is quite large and zipper all around provides easy access. Used it on the plane and it fit easily under the seat and was easy to retrieve items from it during the flight. There's a band on the back that slips around the suitcase handle so it stays put when rolling your bag if you don't want to wear it all the time. It can get a little heavy if you fill it up like I did.

Fabulous, colorful, sturdy for travel backpack! (Firefly Garden)

I needed something to carry extras that won’t fit into my suitcase and this suits. I’ve always loved Vera quilted fabrics but I like this practical water resistant fabric option. The firefly garden fabric option is fabulous! Highly recommend this backpack.

Beautiful colors

This bag appears to have the excellent quality of my other Vera Bradley bags. It is a little bit larger than I expected but I think that will be a good thing. It's very lightweight, the fabric seems good quality and it has lots of pockets and compartments. I don't carry a laptop so I can't comment on that, but so far it has room for all the stuff I carry and then some. I love the colors, they are very vibrant!

Luxurious backpack. Worth every penny.

Lightweight and water resistant. It even has a trolley sleeve to pop over the luggage. Pretty and practical.

I’ve been using Vera Bradley since 2011 and it never disappoints me! I love the pattern and the quality. This is a big backpack with many pockets which is great for me, as a college student and part-time worker. Love it!! *Corgi on picture for scale*
