Like the wood grain color. It feels a litter heavier than bamboo pizza peels.

Shipped with a cracked handle.

The item arrived with a cracked handle. I uploaded a picture that I took with my phone. If you look closely at the picture you’ll see the small crack. The packaging was secure, so I suspect this was a manufacturing quality issue. It wasn’t totally broken and I’m sure it will work so I’m going to keep it, but we were a little disappointed.

Looks beautiful, doesn’t hold up

This peel looks beautiful and did help us get our pizza on and off a pre heated pizza stone. But when we cut the pizza with a rocking cutter, it left pretty significant indents in the wood. Most people cut their pizza on the peel, I would have assumed the wood would be a bit hardier to stand up to a standard rocker.

Perfect

This peel is perfect for what I need. It's beveled edge gets under the pizza nicely after cooking. A few things to keep in mind when trying to slide your raw pizza dough off the peel: 1 )use plenty of flour AND cornmeal, 2 )make sure your dough isn't too wet, 3) take care not to press on the dough when applying the sauce and other toppings - if you press into it the dough won't sit on top of the cornmeal, but be pressed in and more likely to get stuck, and 4 )if you like to brush the edges with oil for nice browning, make sure to do so AFTER you slide it off the peel. When you get the residual oil on the peel, it won't allow the pizza to slide off properly. I've learned most of this the hard way, so I hope this info saves you from the headache. Sliding the peel under the cooked pizza and transferring it to a cutting board is a breeze, it's the raw dough that can be tricky. You could cut the pizza directly on this peel, but if you want to be able to use this as a serving platter for a cheese board, fruit platter, etc., I wouldn't cut on it to preserve the beautiful wood finish.

Beautiful quality wood smooth, professional finish. Seems like it should cost three times more.

Wanted a wood peal for my new pizza oven, but everything seemed cheap, or not the optimal size. Too many made with bamboo that looked lifeless. This wood peel had it all, except maybe a leather strap that I will add later. But I'm very happy with the purchase.

There's a nick in the side

It's really, really beautiful. Yes it's sturdy and seems well made. I've been agonizing over the decision to exchange the one I got or not. There's a nick in the side and it seems finished (not raw/new). I shouldn't be put in a situation where I have to decide between being a Karen and exchanging it for an imperfection, and the hassle of having to exchange it when I live in a small town with no UPS store... or getting an imperfect item when I paid the same as everyone else. The shipping box was in tact so I don't blame the shipping process. I haven't made pizza yet and the nick shouldn't make a difference in the functionality.

The hole is not as advertised. It's a lot smaller.

I like the color and the build is a lot less pieces than the bamboo versions. What I don't like... I have fairly large hands. The handle is a little too wide. And that hole to hang? About the size of a NAIL. You might be able to use a finishing nail to hang this on, but the hole in the pictures is almost big enough for a hook. The one I got wasn't. Will have to drill it out to get it to hang on my hooks.

Great pizza peel

I received this as a birthday gift and absolutely love it. I use is as a pizza peel for my ooni koda 16. I also have a perforated ooni peel, but it seemed to stick a lot. I rub some semolina on this peel, slide the constructed pizza on to it, and it has yet to stick. The peel was smooth - didn’t required sanding like some of the other reviews mentioned.
