Be careful

Nice product as it’s larger than others but be careful that the plastic cannot handle high watt devices such as space heater so it can catch????. Ultimately we got tamper resistant outlets instead.

Feels Safe

I remember deliberately playing with those plastic outlet plug-in covers as a kid. That doesn't seem like a great idea in retrospect, so I definitely wanted a different type of cover with my own kid. These are easy to install, easy to plug cords into when you actually need to use the outlet, and I feel pretty confident my kid can't fry himself. It would require having the strength and understanding to slide the semi-stiff cover to the side and hold it there with one hand while using the other to mess with the outlet. Hopefully by the time he has those skills, he'll be able to understand why he shouldn't use them that way.

Baby safety outlet covers

These were shipped quickly, and were easy to install. The actual functionality is not so great. There is a self closing cover that slides across the plug-in slots when nothing is plugged in, which is great. My 1 year old grandson tried mightily to get into it and failed. But when one tries to plug something in, it does not allow the plug to fit firmly in the slots, and make connection with the power source, you have to keep pushing on it and wiggling it around, then it hangs down half out. (See photos) If you wish to use the outlet regularly, I probably would not get these. Since we only occasionally use the outlet, and they are usually in the closed position, we can live with them.

Screws not included

These are exactly what I was looking for, regular outlet covers are fine for unused outlets but these keep kiddo from unplugging something and then poking around in the outlet. My only issue is that they dont come with their own screws and the ones on the old outlet covers aren't long enough.
