Long lasting

This is the second G Force cable I have installed on my trolling motor the other lasted over 10 years.

Easy to install!

This is way heavier duty than the factory pull cord. Very easy to install and aesthetically pleasing seeing as my boat colors are red and black, same as the handle!

Ghost trolling motor handle

This an excellent replacement for the stock handle that comes on a Ghost. Sturdy and allows for better control when lowering or lifting the trolling motor

A must have...

If trolling motor manf. would just go ahead and spend about 2 dollars more on materials and install something similar there would be no need for this. This handle is sturdy and you will never have to worry about falling and either breaking your rods, falling in the water or having to explain to your fishing partner why you are cussing so much when that stupid cotton/nylon rope breaks as soon as you try to stow or deploy your trolling motor. Again let me tell you what a pain it is to have to buy something like this due to manf. deciding not to put a quality cable on the release so you don't have to take your trolling motor out of the clamp when it breaks while deployed. Oh did i mention it always happens when you need to get that bad boy up out of the water. But i own two of these on two different boats and i snatch and pull on them like I'm trying to start old push mower and i have not broken or had any failures. My advice is to just buy it before you even have to experience a rope failure. Your body will appreciate it as you will not experience sudden spike in blood pressure as your picking yourself up off the deck or floor of your boat. Enjoy :)

Small hardware hurts a great product

This is a really nice trolling motor handle and cable, it does a fantastic job at what is designed to do. It's a little hard to install, all trolling motor ropes are, but it's the hardware that really hurts this item. The trolling motor cable itself is just too big around, it should be a lot thinner in diameter and be just as strong making installation much easier. The handle is held on to the cable by a locking barrel end. This is not a bad design, however the hardware they give you (specifically the set screws) was absolutely terrible. The set screws were round inside, not octagonal. An allen wrench would not even grip them, so you could not tighten the handle locking barrel to the cable without going to the hardware store and buying new set screws. This is the reason for the three stars, you should not have to pay $50 for an item and then have to go buy new (only $1.00 for 2) hardware because the hardware they sent with it was so cheap. Buyer beware if you purchase this item, plan on going to the hardware and getting decent set screws to lock that handle onto your cable.
