Works fine with user modification for 2.8 Gallon Stanley Shop Vac

I bought this hose to replace the lost hose for my Stanley 2.8 HP shop vac. I would not have known, if I hadn't read the reviews before purchase, that the hose would fit if I cut off part of the end where it attaches (there is a kind of half-loop at the attachment point - I had to cut it off plus about an inch of the tubing at that point.) Once that was done, the hose fit my shop vac and worked just like the original. I deducted one star, because the need to cut off a bit of something before testing it could make it non-returnable - if it hadn't worked.

This hose like the one it replaced suffers from a poor design ...

hose is not entirely correct for my vacuum, which IS the listed vacuum , on my particular unit the hooked end of the hose (the deflector after the threaded fitting to attach it to the vacuum) is actually attached to the inside of the attached screw juncture on the vacuum with the hooked deflector part of the intake port to the vacuum itself. In order to make this replacement fit I had to take a hacksaw to it and cut off the deflector and about 1/2' of the hard plastic hose behind it in order to actually attach it to the vacuum. This hose like the one it replaced suffers from a poor design on the business end also and the hard plastic tube is likely to pull out of the flex hose during routine use. Duct tape will solve that but it shouldn't be necessary

SLight adjustment & it fit my older Stanley Shop Vac

I lost my old vac tube ages ago, so it was to finally find a replacement. I had to hack saw the curved end off as my older model already had the curved diverter riveted to its inside.

Photo doesn't match product

I needed a new hose with the attachment at the end that looks like a letter "c" or "u" as in the photo so that debris is blown down into the vacuum bag. That's not what I got. Probably not Amazon's fault. It's Stanley that seems to work hard to make their accessories both impossible to find and prohibitively expensive.

It is not the same as the original, which had a curve that turned downward into the bag.
