For basketball these are great and grip the basketball shoe nicely

I am 6ft tall and 220 lbs 41 year old male. I play basketball twice a week and Soccer in a league for the past 10 years. For basketball these are great and grip the basketball shoe nicely. My feat do not overly sweat when comparing them to more cushioned Under Armour or Jordan Basketball socks. I also do not get blisters by my big toe or little toe like I used too. I tried them for soccer for the first time yesterday. They worked great until I noticed towards the end of the second half the back of my heal was starting to hurt. I thought I got some of the artificial grass rubber dirt in between my sock and shoe but then they both started to hurt and burn towards the end of the game. When I took my shoes and socks off at the end of the game I had a pair of nasty open blisters on both of my feet on the back heel. I have never had a sock cause me injury. I use the Puma EvoPower Vigor 1 FG Soccer Cleat and they are the most comfortable soccer shoes I have ever owned. I played in them the prior week with my standard Adidas Soccer Socks and did not have any issues. I use Adidas Crazy Explosive Low Basketball shoes. My shoe size is 11.5 and I have flat feet. I hope this review helps you decide. I think for $40 dollars for a pair of socks they should not cause you injury. If they removed the back rubber grips from the heel area of the sock this would solve the problem. The gray rubber grips are both inside the sock and outside and I have washed these four times so far and they have not shrunk. Wearing another thin pair of socks is not an option for me and I think for $40 they should re-engineer these to include a layer of fabric protection from the back heel area or eliminate the three rows of back heel grips. Not sure if anyone else has run into this same problem. I am going to keep these socks since I really like them for basketball but I will never wear these for soccer.

Amazing sock!

These socks are amazing! My son used to get horrible blood blisters after just 2 hours of hard soccer playing and now he doesn't get them at all. We looked long and hard and tried every other solution recommended for athletes with this problem. This by far solved the problem the best for him. He still gets hot spots, but no blisters. The socks are comfortable and he loves wearing them. We got this color to match his team socks and when the season stats we will cut the bottom of his team sock and he will wear the top part so he doesn't loose the grip. They are very pricy, but so worth it!

At first I thought these socks were a gimmick, and that I wouldn't be able to feel a difference between these and normal socks. Honestly I was convinced that was the case the first few times I wore these socks, that was until I wore a pair of normal socks again. I could feel my feet slipping inside the sock and the sock inside the shoe. I didn't realize how much slippage there was without these Trusox. Just be careful with how these are washed since you can lose some grip pads. I ask my Girlfriend to wash these how she washes her bras.

best socks for soccer players

both my boys rely on these socks during their club, high school and college soccer games. they will cut the foot part off of their game socks so they can still wear their trusox under. They have colors that match each uniform. they are worth price for comfort and stability.

Chafing issue. But grippy, especially on wet conditions

Unlike the silicone rubber squares on some less expensive grip socks that feel someone put gummy bears in my socks, Trusox’s grey rectangular panels feel dry and flat on your skin. However, it gave me a painful blister on the heel. Performance-wise: There’s no slippage on wet/dry conditions. I was able to get on beast mode using these socks in a soccer tournament on very wet artificial ground. It made me chase the ball and change direction pretty quickly. So happy that I won the ball and also blocked a shot of goal a number of times as a defensive midfielder. Blister is no fun though. So maybe instead of the grey rectangular panels that chafes the skin, Trusox can redesign the inside of the sock to have solid panels, like Storelli’s grip socks.
