Hinge pin will rust

I thought these were great at first but after 6 months I'm starting to see signs of discoloration at the hinge - hence it is not stainless there and starting to rust. This is the second product I've noticed from Sea-Dog that was stainless but is now starting to rust. Also the hinge is getting stuck in the position you put it in so if you don't close it it'll stay open. Now I have about 10 of these and most are looking good and operating but there are a few now that are getting sticky.

Solid Quality

Quality seems good but I ended up not using them. The rope I purchased was 1/2" and too large for the eyelet.

Snap hook w eye insert

I have been looking everywhere for one of the these for my boyfriend because his previous one broke. This one seems to be sturdy and haven't had any problems with it.

Decent but eyelet full of burrs

Solidly made, a little smaller than I thought but that's my fault for not checking specs. What I didn't like was that the eye insert was full of sharp burrs all the way around the inside so when I was taking it out of the box I got a nice sliver of metal in my finger. Since this will surely cut whatever rope I use, I will have to take a file to it to ensure it's smooth and not fray my rope. First, though, I need a decent pair of tweezers to get this sliver out...
