Booster Car Seat Showdown: Pet Gear vs. K&H Pet Products
I bought this Pet Gear booster seat (PG) in size medium and the K&H Pet Products Bucket Booster Pet Seati (K&H)n size large at the same time several weeks ago. I installed one on either end of my backseat, leaving about a foot of space in between. I have 3 dogs, each weighing less than 10 lbs, and I've given them free rein in the back seat to sit wherever they want, and here's what happened: All 3 dogs choose the K&H seat every time we go somewhere. The size large is bigger than it looks in the picture, and sometimes all three sit in it together. When not in the K&H seat, the dogs lie down on either the back seat or the floor - they're never in the PG seat. If I place them in the Pet Gear seat, they jump back out. In the other K&H seat, they are at the right height to look out the window or stick their noses out if the window is down. They sit up much too high on this Pet Gear seat - it looks like more of a platform than a seat - they sit deeper in the K&H and can't fall off. There is a big difference in the way each seat attaches with the seatbelt. The K&H is securely attached to the car's seat and does not wobble or flop around like the PG seat. It's would be nearly impossible for a dog to flip the K&H seat or work it loose from the seat belt., not so with the PG. I didn't like the way this Pet Gear seat attached to the car, it wasn't secure. The K&H costs more than the PG (I got lucky and got them both open box from Amazon Warehouse, paid $33 for the PG and $59 for the K&H), but the difference in quality of materials and manufacturing is obvious. The material covering the PG was already separating on one side, and it just didn't look like it was destined for a long life. Bottom line: Obviously the Pet Gear seat must work better in a different type of car or with different sizes of dogs, since it did get positive reviews, and it's very possible my dogs WOULD have used the Pet Gear seat if it was their only option (a booster seat is the only way they can see out the window - without it they are so little all they can see is the door handle) but when given the choice it was unanimous for the K&H.K&H Pet Products Bucket Booster Pet Seat Large Tan 14.5" x 24" K&H Pet Products Bucket Booster Pet Seat Large Tan 14.5" x 24"

Impossible to reach seller for replacement cover.
I have bought two of these....one in tan and one in black. They work great but the black cover ripped and I have tried and tried to reach seller to see about getting another cover but no one gets back to me.

comfortable and safe
Our 11 pound dog constantly wanted to get on our lap to be able to see out windows. This little seat is high enough for her to enjoy looking out the windows and being comfortable and safe also. At first she was not sure about the contraption but now she is excited to get in it. She use to not want to go out with us. Now when she see me get her lil' harness she goes to me and lays down for me to put it on as before she would run under the bed.

Sizes changed
I’ve had the medium size in this seat for years for my 6lb Pomeranian. It is just big enough for him so sleep on his side. Got a second dog and thought I ordered the right size. It’s so small I don’t see any dog over 4 lbs able to use it comfortably. When I bought my original there was small, medium and large... the medium is what I had. Now the medium is the large? And the original large size that could fit a 20lb dog is gone?? After 8 years of constant abuse my original seat top (the guard rails) have separated from the base. The dogs fight over this seat love it’s stability and ease of putting in the car.

Great stability and my dogs love it!
I love this dog car seat! I have purchased others that hook on the headrest etc. and they were not sturdy and my dogs did not feel safe. My dogs absolutely love this one. I don’t use the latch to connect their collar and they are good about not getting out of it. It looks just like their dog bed. I take the pillow out because it makes it to fluffy for them not to be able to sink into it, but they use it as a headrest on the outside of the bed. The dog pictured is 16lbs and is a miniature schnauzer mix with papillon, just so you can get an idea the room. My 8lb affenpinscher/terr. Mix does not fit in it with her. The dog seat does take up my entire front seat to my midsize midsize SUV.

Highly Recommended
This car booster seat was exactly what we needed. It’s simple to install by wrapping the seatbelt around the inside of the bottom open space. It boosts my dog high enough that he can see everything and conveniently lean out the window while still being hooked in. Also, it protects my leather interior from his dirty paws. I highly recommend this booster seat for your pet if you furry companion frequently travels in the car with you.

Fits as a console
I wanted a baby seat for my dog that would fit between my front and passenger seat of my minivan. I don't use the seatbelt, instead using the security straps from the second row seats. It just barely squeezed in between the seats, and she gets to sit right next to me while I'm driving.

Easy to install and very sturdy.
Nice, sturdy seat for my little puppy. I can clip him close to the latch for less mobility or give him some slack. It’s super easy to install and very sturdy. I took the pillow out for now as we are training him and wanted him to be a little more secure. It’s super light weight, and comes with a plastic case to use for storage which is nice too.

opened the box took one look and realized that this was to small for my dogs, and not deep enough for proper support. appears very sturdy to the touch.
