Perfect for my elementary classroom!

Not very practical for secondary classrooms

The desk does not allow for quick adjustment. In a secondary class where students change classrooms throughout the day, it isn't practical to expect students of different heights to be able to use the same desk. Removing 4 screws, adjusting the height, and then putting the screws back in place every time is not feasible. Solid, sturdy desk with lots of room on the surface, though. Great for one to one programs where students need to use devices. The adjustability issue is my only complaint.

Good for home office

I know they say it's for kids, but while everyone is home, I needed a desk for working from home that doesn't take up much space, and let's me stand. This does the trick. It's just the right size for my phone, laptop, bluetooth speaker, and a bottle of water. And it's sturdy enough for an adult. The one thing to note is that it is not as adjustable as it says. You can definitely adjust it, but it isn't quick or easy. You need to loosen multiple screws, and likely need to remove whatever you have on the desk. Especially if this is for a child, don't expect quick transitions between standing and sitting. But for an adult, or anyone looking to almost always keep the same height, this has worked out really well. Since it is for a makeshift home office during the pandemic, I do wish it was on wheels. But it is light enough to pick up and move a few feet.

Middle Schoolers need these, for the whole class!

I have 4 of these in my classroom and 10 of the similar model with a storage box. My students absolutely love them and they are always in full use in the classroom. The students like that they have more space to move and that they are able to stand and stretch. I like that the students are more engaged and focused while using these desks. Thanks to the support of DonorsChoose, I have been able to add these desks to my room. My ideal room would have a complete set of these, but with 37 kids in a class, that isn't going to happen just yet! I love that the kids can gather there and have a partner work with them, or that they can use it as a platform for work with multiple kids, or that they can pull a chair up and sit behind them. They also like to sit on the floor and use the lower shelf as a work area at times. Multipurpose, gives kids options! My lack of a star is because this model really does need the storage box, it is worth the extra cost. It keeps things tidy and organized. Each desk took a custodian about 25 minutes to assemble and once they are set up, you really don't want to adjust them much. If I had free money to spend, a full set of these would be a priority in my middle school.

Middle Schoolers love this desk!!!

For teachers who have kids who need to move, this desk is a miracle worker. Sometimes students really just want a break from sitting in the desk unit. Off task behavior has decreased. My students are learning cooperation because we only have two and they have to take turns. They know if they disrupt and argue the desks are off limits so they work out a schedule amongst themselves that rarely requires my intervention. My only negative comment is about the foot swing. Students need to be very gentle with it. If they apply too much of their body weight (which they accidentally do sometimes when they are fidgeting), the bar will loudly pop off - but it will pop back on.

Stand up desk for my middle schooler learning remotely

Purchased this stand up desk for my seventh grader who is learning remotely from his bedroom over his school supplied chrome book. He has the option to sit at a different desk or stand at this desk. I had a very similar one in my fourth grade classroom before I retired. My son uses it virtually every day. It was fairly easy to assemble. Don’t over tighten. Height and table size are great. It’s decent quality for the price. I’m satisfied. My son has o/t and attention issues so this desk does help him focus and deal with excess energy. The foot pedal is removable. I removed it because he was using it too much. The desk stores easily near his closet for weekends and is easily moved to a rug in his open area floor space for daily classes. There were other desk options but I felt safe with this company. Desk was packed professionally. So far, it’s holding up well. No complaints.

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING!

I am so disappointed in this desk! We bought it last month and just put it together for my daughter to bring to school tomorrow. She was so excited to be able to sit or stand while working! This description is so misleading - frustration free?!!! First of all we bought the premium desk top ($300), which is supposed to be of a better quality and when we lifted the top attached to the legs the part where it screws in ripped out. Now my husband has to create a bracket to hold it in place. MORE IMPORTANTLY My child CANNOT adjust this desk to stand or sit by herself. It requires two people and tools to unscrew the set screws and lift the somewhat heavy top, and then while holding it in position, tighten the set screws to the desired height. The description of this expensive desk made it seem like she could easily choose to sit or stand while working - but only if she wants to disrupt the classroom and get the two teachers to adjust it for her!!! Be aware before buying this desk that you or your child can EITHER sit OR stand - but you cannot switch between the two at will. Had I known this I would have chosen a different desk. Oh and while assembling it you have to have the chair you will be using to measure the height you want and then have another person hold the top in place while you tighten the set screws. This is basically a regular school desk with a swing bar and extra place for storage for $300! I give this desk 2 stars instead of 1 for the swing bar and places to store your things. The photos are 1) of the underside of the desk that just ripped apart with nothing more than the weight of the top of the desk and 2) the set screws that need to be undone everytime you want to adjust the height.

Very comfortable!

Several years of using and still like new :) Very nice, growing with a kid, heavy, durable. But very expensive.
