What quality control? Handle is painted with tacky paint????

Ok it's just what I expected after reading the pro and con reviews. But not a tacky handle. From the top to the bottom the whole handle is so sticky it's like it was covered by mistake in some kind of spray on glue? I'll consult a few others to see if we can figure out how to get rid of that problem. Perhaps spray painting with a clear paint over the whole handle well solve it...or not. I'd hate to have to take a solvent to it and then repaint the whole handle. It's a cheap cheap cheap broom and I expected no better but didn't plan on having to redo the thing to make it functional. Makes me wonder if the seller has a unhappy employee who decided to sabatoge the thing. Anyway since I wanted a super light weight broom to take along to camp site but bigger than a whisk broom this is what I was hoping for. And I did want a smaller head. It's a joke to call it a Commerical EXECUTIVE SERIES however if it's sent out with some kind of sticky substance or tacky paint on the handle. REALLY? Shame on Rubbermaid if they aren't watching their quality control better than this. So I only dinged it two stars if it had been painted with decent paint I would give it at least 4 maybe even 5. Though overall it's cheaper than I expected with a name calling it a Commercial product let alone Executive Series so probably only 4. In todays world with who knows what's what with asian products substituting their own lead based paints and even other types of poisons showing up in products you would never expect when something like OMGosh not just a spot due to say a slipped label but every inch of the handle is totally tacky so much so it's already attracted and claimed some of our long hair cat fur as in probably permenant. I did wash it with soap and water hoping it would improve. It did not help.

First things first; this is a "lobby broom." It is just the size it needs to be. If you do not know what a lobby broom is, it is the short broom the janitor uses when he sweeps the lobby. The broom is small enough to easily use with one hand, and is generally meant to be used with an over-sized dust pan on a stick. If you still do not know what a lobby broom is, google search lobby broom and look at the images. most of the images are of just the broom, but there is one image of a man using a lobby broom with the dust pan. There you go. Now, this is not the best lobby broom I've ever used, but it is the best I've found online. I work at a restaurant with a carpet floor and need to sweep under tables. The bristles are stiff enough to sweep on the carpet, which is something you would think they would advertise (they do it to toothbrushes after all.) I bought this broom because the one good broom we had broke and the managers are too cheap to buy a new one. Whenever I go to work, I bring my own broom with me, and everyone wants to borrow my broom. It is easily the best at the restaurant, and the managers keep saying they will buy one of these. I'll hold my breath. Short because it's s'posed to be, and has sturdy bristles.

Really, this broom must be a joke. It is the size of a broom you would use in a kiddy house. There is no way it is worth the money. I understand it is a lobby broom but there is nothing to it.

Small brooms

These are really small and only decent quality. They are more like toy brooms than commercial brooms. I was a little disappointed..

Perfect for the disabled

This Lobby Broom is the perfect size for someone in a wheelchair. I have one, actually a child's toy broom made with corn bristles, but this one is much stiffer with the synthetic bristles. Perfect for sweeping between the fridge and the cabinet; under/behind the bird cage; so many places this little broom can reach! I will do as another reviewer suggested and drill a small hole at the top of the handle for hanging. And unlike another reviewer, the handle on mine is not sticky at all; it's painted black and is very smooth. I like the handle being the size that it is - slightly thinner than a full-sized broom handle and much easier for my arthritic hands to grasp. I love the length of the handle and I don't have to worry about knocking things about behind me. I absolutely love this lobby broom and highly recommend it.

MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THIS IS A MINI BROOM AND THE BRISTLES ARE ROUGH NOT LIKE A USUAL BROOM. NOT A TYPICAL KITCHEN BROOM. PAY ATTENTION TO THE MEASUREMENTS! MINE CAME DAMAGED BUT THEY GAVE ME A FAST REFUND!

witches' broom

I wanted a small black broom to use as a witches' broom for my 7-year old for Halloween. It is perfect for this purpose. It is indeed quite short but still will be useful post-Halloween for quickly sweeping the kitchen. The handle of the broom we got was not sticky.

short broom for single handed use

This is a short broom intended for single-handed use sweeping under furniture and counter tops. If that's what you want (I did) it's perfect. But know what you're getting; you can't use this for general purpose sweeping, at least unless you're under 4' tall or like to stoop a lot. The plastic bristles are great for sweeping off of low-pile carpet too.

It's good for what it is

I should have read the review more closely; my fault entirely but this is small. It's good for what it is, but it's short and odd to use. It has hard plastic bristles that I'm not a fan of, but it would be good for outdoor use.
