Well Made

Finally got a canner that is deep enough to process 7 quart jars with 1" of water over them and not boil all over the stove. Pan is heavy gauge stainless and seems very well made. My wife loves it.

Foggy glass top right out of the box

Had I not needed this immediately I would have returned it due to the foggy glass lid right out of the box. It will not wash off. I first tried hand washing it, then I put it in the dishwasher and it still will not come off. It was nice to have such a deep pot for canning, and being able to see through the lid was wonderful, but as I lifted the lid off to remove my jars the lid made a faint popping noise. I really do not want to send it back, but now I'm afraid the lid may be defective. I think first I will try contacting the manufacturer to ask if they'll replace the lid only. I also wish the handles on the basket were longer. It's difficult to reach the handles when they are submerged half way down into a tall pot of hot boiling water.

Great pot to start canning

I am new to the canning movement and needed to find a good water bath at a decent price. There are some water baths that Amazon offers at a cheaper price, but I decided to go with this one because a) it's stainless steal and b) the rack seems to get decent reviews. The pot is huge and the lid stays on tight-even during a rolling boil. The rack is divided, so I sometimes feel like I'm wasting a little space with the pint size jars, but its not that big of a deal and its probably safer that way. I haven't had any issues with the rack rusting, but I do dry if off as soon as it is cool enough to handle. My only complaint is that since the pot is so huge, I lack a cabinet that it will fit in.

Label "welded on"

Received my pot very quickly! I love the size and weight. The label, however took 30 minutes to remove! Used oil, hot soapy water soak and finally acetone. Almost got out the chisel!

So far, so good.

I've used this canner every day for about two weeks now, and so far, so good. It works great on my ceramic stove top. My only minor complaint (and the reason I gave it four stars instead of five) is that you can only can 7 jars at a time, no matter what size jars you are using, due to the dividers that go between the jars on the rack. However, the rack has not rusted at all, which is why I went with this canner with the stainless steel rack rather than the "name brand" canner with the rack that, according to reviews on Amazon, rusts the first time you use it. Overall it seems to be a very good product.

Pot is great, getting the large sticker off of the pot so you can use it is impossible!!

For some reason this company is using a glue that is used for stickers that are to be permanent. After trying soaking, scraping, fingernail polish remover and rubbing alcohol. We ending up removing the glue with turpentine, and even that wasn't very easy to do. I would have returned the pot if I didn't need it so badly to finish my jam production for the year. The company really needs to figure this out.

Bare minimum quality for a low price?

After the first use, bottom was marked with spots. Cannot seem to remove them, so assume it's defective material. Have never had a canner with a steam vent in the cover. Seems illogical and the cover is not heavy enough, nor does it fit well enough, to stay still on the pot as it boils. Get what you pay for?!?
