Very solid. Great purchase. I replaced the flimsy lanyard with a leather cord. This will most definitely thump some tires.

Broke- after 2 weeks of intense use
We bought for my daughter to use in a play. It looks really cool and fits the play. She hits sand bags behind stage to replicate someone being beat. The stick shattered and the metal bent after the second show. My daughter isn’t crazy strong and is only 17. Obviously the item isn’t meant to pound sand bags - just tires, but for those wanting something for self defense I thought this would give you an idea of its strength.

Very solid piece of wood...
I just recently received this item and it's actually better than I thought it would be. I "practiced" with it by whacking a few things solid and it held up great. Not sure the type of wood it's made of, BUT, it's definitely solid and I don't think would break easily. I got it to keep in my truck for "personal defense use," if necessary. I'm happy with it and do recommend it.

Worked great until it cracked.
The tire thumper was fantastic and made my pre-trips nice and smooth. However, over the course of a few weeks, I managed to break the center bolt loose, and crack the wooden surrounding. Granted, I was whacking the hell out of my tires, rather unnecessarily, so I'm not totally sure it was a craftsmanship issues. I'd say it was pretty great while it lasted, but if you're anything like me, it may not last very long.

Very nice wood, solid construction
This is great for checking tyres. Great for anything with air in it. Like a problem person who has air in their head. I highly recommend.
