Great for potatoes

Impressed and shocked I didn’t know this awesome device existed

Been making homemade gnocchi, because for some reason store bought is loaded with sodium. When researching this I discovered it was recommend to use a ricer. This device is so easy to use and clean. I’ve used it 6 times now in the past month and both regular and sweet potato’s slide right through it. I’m not sure I ever want to use a masher again, though lumpy potatoes can be nice too. This particular unit is also super easy to clean. So if you never gotten a gadget like this for your kitchen, it’s time to get one!

Best mashed potatoes ever

Potato ricers really do make potatoes so creamy and fluffy. I like this model because it's very sturdy and takes little effort to "rice" a potato. I don't bother to peel them first because the ricer will easily filter out the skin. I also steam my potatoes -- whole -- so they don't lose any flavor in boiling water. Yes, $30 is a lot, but the results are fantastic.

very efficient ricer

I bought this for Thanksgiving slightly worried that it wouldn't be able to handle the 5 pounds of potatoes but it worked like a charm. I have a few suggestions for anyone looking to purchase this: You don't need to peel the potatoes which is a great timesaver. Just plan to clean it out every few potatoes or else the potatoes won't go through. Unless your potatoes are teeny tiny, plan on cutting them down. It will make life easier.

Sturdier and Easy to clean

I was looking at several different hand held potato ricer and came across this one. So far it seems to be sturdier than most and easier to clean. Also, no sharp edges around the handle.

The best potato ricer in the world!!

After years of either overworked mashed potato, or slightly lumpy mashed potato, I finally bit the bullet and bought this gadget after researching which potato ricers were the best. It arrived today, and is a thoroughly sturdy little beast, but nonetheless, it’s still looks refined and beautifully made. I made my first ever batch of potato-ricer-mash, and it was a revelation (if a kitchen gadget can be revelation?!) It made truly perfect, light, fluffy absolutely lump free, silky-smooth mash, and the best bit of all, it made it with total ease. For some reason I assumed that it would be quite a chore to push the potatoes through the machine, but it has some clever little gear shenanigans going on, which makes it easy enough for three year old to do. It also cleans like a dream, but you do need to clean it straight away rather than leaving it overnight I think. Really, this is my new favourite thing and I imagine the next few days are going to be spent boiling and mashing all kinds of veg. Just for the fun of it and also to see all the uses I can put it to. If a potato ricer is what you’re after… Please do yourself a favour and buy this one, it is outstanding!

Absolutely Brilliant

This potato ricer is fantastic very easy to use with very sturdy strong geared handles making the squishing of potatoes a doddle the stainless steel cup can fit 3 decent size chunks of potato easily and it pops out of the handle for easy cleaning the only niggle would be that some potato squeezes past the pluger meaning you have to push it back under fire a second pass but it's very minor and probably unavoidable due to the mechanics of the way it works anyhoo i highly recommend buying one it's brilliant

Brilliant results, well worth the money

Mash has never been so smooth! The kids are loving the mash I make with this. Very sturdy and well made. I bought this after a friend got one and was sold the moment I tried it. Four starts for “Easy to clean” as mash can occasionally fall in to the “gears”, and moving parts means you have to be a little more patient to clean it than a quick rinse. But not unexpected for an accomplished masher.

Where have you been all my life?

Wow. This makes excellent riced-potatoes in seconds. I won't be using my mixer anymore for "whipped potatoes". No mess or potato splatter all over the cupboard. Simply drop a boiled potato, skin on, into the cup, hold over your plate and squeeze. Toss aside the skin and repeat for the next plate.
