Very capable, but do not leave the magnet on.
Pictures: 2 views of my drill press conversion. One elevated and rotated to show depth stop. One in typical position. Two showing the range of drill height adjustment. One of the carbide hole-cutter I used. One to remind me to use hearing protection. Things to know: Like a drill press this model has only forward rotation. A single speed. No motor brake. Much louder than a typical drill press. Full magnetic clamping requires about a half inch of magnetic metal under the whole shoe. My setup is good with a quarter inch of steel under the 7/8th of its shoe. Be advised that clamping to thin metal will not be as effective. Vibration is mentioned as a potential hazard, but I noticed no vibration when boring the two holes in the cast iron foot of my converted drill press, which I did execute very slowly with no cutting oil. Pulses are mentioned in the manual, but I think they mean rotations. There is no hammer drill action going on here. Access to the drill power button is not ideal with the elevation wheel in the way. Better if that switch traded places with the magnet power button. In a panic stop situation, you might not want to turn off the magnet by accident while the motor continues to run. In a related observation, the magnet is not supposed to stay on longer than two or three hours. Do not forget to power-off before going to bed. Therefore, I'm thinking about running my rigged drill press through a separate power switch that also controls a light. This might be OK if I secure a harness to the drill, as is recommended in other use situations. The drill motor would be turned on or off as needed. The magnet would be turned off when I turn off the light at the end of the job. That being the most important thing. If I still feel insecure, I'll run the power through a one-hour timer. If I have to reset it, that's no big deal. I do like that I can very quickly and easily remove this device and take it somewhere else. I'm not reporting on the water-cooled drilling feature or the hole cutters. I have carbide hole saws that are better than high speed steel for my purposes. The chuck that is included is perfectly fine. I did have to adjust the friction on the rack and pinion elivation mechanism. It would not stay up when running. This required quite a few minutes of trial and error, but I got it, eventually. This is not the sort of tool everyone needs, but if you do, this has what seems like basic pro-level capability at a much lower cost. For me a good deal, but I cannot speak for anyone who might use it very frequently. After all, I'm just trying to avoid buying a new shop drill press. Good hunting!

Loud but does the trick
This is good for a hobbyist, bought to complement bench top lathe & cnc. Magnet grabs nicely the surface of my old delta table-saw; if the cord plug were higher on the press, the fence would allow me to square up the press it in two orientations. Makes me want to modify my table-saw into complimentary jig surface. End mills seem strong enough for soft materials. Yes, it's loud. While you can easily get more precision with this over a handheld drill, the developing swift process to move & align does take some creativity. In a few generations I expect these will be programmed move on a track and complete a hole pattern.

Good value. Not top of the line by any means, but good for the price.
At the current price of $248 this is a good deal if you need a magnetic drill. Its features, especially the switches and lack of speed control, are its biggest limits so far with the little time I have used it. The magnet works well, although the manual says not to use it for more than three hours or it will overheat. I suspect the time to overheat may be significantly affected by ambient temperatures. It comes with metric core bits. They cut well but I will have to order some SAE sized bits for most of my work. The manual states to not use this on steel less than 13 mm. I have used it on 1/4" steel and it seemed to be okay. I am sure it holds tighter on thicker steel. The quality of the cutters seems to be good. The chuck is so so quality but works. As mentioned above, the controls are not the best. The location of them can make them hard to reach while the drill is in use. The lack of speed control limits the uses of this drill. I do believe the manufacturer also makes a model with a speed control. If I needed one of these drills for frequent use I would likely look at a better, and more expensive, model. For my occasional use this should work fine. Of course there is no telling how this will hold up over time. For now though I think it is a good value.

Quirky, lots of torque and LOUD!
The media could not be loaded. This is a high powered drill press with magnetic "suction". I am primarily using it on woodworking, but the magnetic aspect is not crucial for me, but it works. Comes with a "belt" for holding drill press on a surface and a chuck. The design is a bit quirky because it's meant to be on top of the material being cut directly (like a ferrous metals). For more multipurpose uses, it requires a jig for holding the tool high enough to clear the cutting material. The included "safety belt" is very thing and not terribly secure. Took some attempts to get the most tension in the belt. Packaging is appropriate and even comes with some sides that are wooden for extra protection. Mine arrived in good shape. The overall tool is very compact and easy to store. Handle for lifting it is nicely sized as it is a heavy tool. Main complaints are: (1) the cutting head's weight to too heavy for the hand wheel to hold it in position -- I had to use a clamp while switching bits/tools, (2) there is no hard stop for measured depth cuts, and (3) the noise! Once I get this drill press fitted, it'll be a good tool. It does require a good base and jigs for holding the hand wheel from moving on its own. ... the noise I can't fix... However... ... at this price, this is actually not a bad tool. Its cuts are straight and the spinning axel is well balanced. For a few hundred dollars more, there are other options. So it's not for everyone. I am using this tool for specific projects and I don't mind making jigs to make the tool more multi-functional.

Buy the big brand
Poor, poor magnet. Bits were dull at best, maybe I just got a bad one but I was disappointed. Save your time on this and pony up a little more money for a name brand drill. I returned after one use I could barely drill one hole
