Good belt sander

Used to sand a deck and they wore out similarly to the big box brands for much cheaper. Great value for money and didnt have a single belt break out of the batch.

Works Well

These did not separate like some have mentioned. I tried to stay in one direction, but found myself moving it side to side and pushing hard against the wood, but they stayed strong.

Sturdy, but seam becomes unglued under heavy use

I got these for sanding redwood fence boards to woodworking finish. They grip nicely and the sand stays sharp. The only bad thing is that the glue strip that holds the seam together becomes unglued under heavy use when the belt heats up. Pretty every belt eventually ended this way, and I had to take breaks to extend the life of the belts.

Sanding belts are not all the same. Powertec are the good ones.

I bought several different grits of sanding belts, from different manufacturers. One of the others jumped around when it hit the seam and was so unusable, I returned the package. The Powertec belts ran smoothly, so I bought the rest of the grits I needed from this company. Don't buy the cheapest belts (unless they are Powertec). You will waste your time returning them. I have not yet worn out the first belt I installed on my sander. I may have more belts than I can use in this lifetime, they are so well made. These are ones to get.

Powertec belts

These belts are better than I expected. I used them to sand the stain/poly finish on an oak coffee table and two end tables. I use a gum rubber cleaning block frequently to keep them clean. I’d buy again.

I'm using this thing to strip paint and varnish off wood. They do their job really well. If you press too hard, it'll strip right into the wood. Good value.
