A bit on the stiff side...

This hose is great but comes with two drawbacks. It is long so it can reach the whole pool however this comes at the cost of making it difficult to unclog if something gets stuck somewhere near the middle. Also, the hose is stiff so it may not always allow the vacuum to reach all areas of the pool (say if it gets wound up).

Does what it was intended to do.

So far so good. Sized right for our pool. Works as intended but to early to tell how long it will last. The last hose worked great for 15 years. Worked great the first season.

Awesome for off-label applications!!

Attention hobbyists, woodworkers, and shop-folk! This is some seriously impressive stuff! Does not crush/collapse with suction/vacuum pressure when used for branches in my shop dust collection system nor as an extended hose on my shop vac. Using this on my shop vac allows me to set the vacuum outdoors, keeping dust/noise out when cleaning up drywall/demolition mess. I’ve also been using this for years in my shop to connect branch circuits of my dust collection system to power tools and my CNC router. It’s a ridiculously durable alternative to standard shop ducting and vacuum hoses; it is also so much more affordable than these items normally run. Note: If using for dust collection, a 1 1/4” PVC barbed/threaded connection slips right into the tubing once cut, making it super simple to connect to power tools (belt grinders, belt sanders, miter/chop saws, etc.).

So far so good

I hesitate to make TOO glowing a review just yet since I've only used it twice. But so far it's working fine. I'd had to replace my old hose because the suction from the filter was flattening the hose at the skimmer. After the first couple uses, this one is holding up just fine. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the swivel feature doesn't seem to be keeping the hose from twisting up in the pool. It just refuses to stay uncurled once I start moving it around. BUT, it doesn't kink when that happens and that doesn't seem to affect the suction.

Don’t Guess on Length Needed

If you have a rectangular pool and are wondering what length to order to reach the farthest point of the pool and not have a bunch of extra hose to deal with or not enough, here you go. To determine how long of a hose you need, use the Pythagorean Theorem plus the depth. Take the length of your pool, square it, multiply it by the width of your pool squared. Then take the square root of that number. Then taken add the depth of the deep end. So my pool is 32’ long by 16’ wide. 32’^2*16’^2=1280. Square root of that is 35.8. The deepest part of my pool is 8’. So 35.8+8=43.8. So I got a 45 foot long hose. Works perfectly!

Not made to work on automatic suction type cleaners, (or robotic) pool cleaners!

"Not made to work on automatic suction type cleaners, (or robotic) pool cleaners." I don't know how I missed the above statement lister under "About This Item", but somehow I did. I purchased this hose to replace my "Pool Cleaner" hose and it definitely does NOT work for that purpose. Unfortunately this hose does not work particularly well for a manual vacuum attachment on the end of a pole either. The hose does not want to uncurl and is so buoyant that the manual vacuum head does not easily rest on the bottom of the pool. Both connectors at the ends of the hose are female and made with a hard slick plastic that does not stay attached well to the vacuum head. (It would have been nice if they had included a gender switching adapter for one end so that you could connect the discharge side to an inline pre-filter that floats in the pool). I am frustrated that I waited too long before testing the hose and missed the return date, otherwise I would have sent the hose back. I will try leaving the hose fully extended in a straight line for a couple of days and see if that helps the coiling problem. Aside from my failure to read the limitations of this product, I do not recommend it because of the coiling problems, excessive buoyancy and hard slick plastic connectors.

a 40 foot hose is to short for a 36 ft pool

Good hose but when he suction hits it draws up some - so my 18 X 36 pool with a side suction connector - comes out short to the far corner. Lucky I saved the old hose and added 10 foot on to make the far corner.
