Both too sensitive and not strong enough
I really wanted to be one of the uncommon folks that loved this, but it was not meant to be. This triggers on any sound above a certain decibel level (which it does to our TV at normal volume in the living room right off the entryway). So, it's constantly triggering on noises that aren't barks. I could live with turning it off when we want to watch TV and then turning it back on again, but the correction noise isn't enough of a deterrent to our dogs. We have a hand-held trainer that instantly silences them at 20 feet, but they barely pause for this thing. To give you a sense of perspective, one of the dogs is incredibly sensitive to sharp noises and goes running for her cubby at the sound of a bottle rocket miles away (much less the aforementioned handheld trainer in the same room), but she doesn't even shrug at this thing. To top it all off, I've been getting less than a month of battery before it stops working entirely (and no, it's not any more effective on brand-new fresh batteries). Always possible I got a defective unit, but based on the other reviews, that doesn't seem likely to me. If they update the device to be triggered to the specific sonic profile of a dog barking (my nest cameras can recognize just fine!) and increase (customize) the correction sound, I may try it again.

Two separate orders dead on arrival
The first order wouldn't power on. I even tried new batteries. It was very inconvenient because the first and second order had to be returned to two different places. The first one I had to repackage, print four different labels because the batteries made it a hazmat. Getting one that works is a gamble and the odds aren't in your favor.

It works - too well for my dog.
I have 2 dogs that bark entirely too much indoors. One much more than the other. It works VERY WELL. Too well. The lesser of the two barkers gets very upset and frightened by it. So I don’t use it since she is so adversely affected by it. It would work best for a 1 dog family so the unoffender isn’t punished.

Good few weeks
It worked really well for a few weeks and my obsessive window barker completely stopped. Then out of nowhere it seems to have stopped phasing him. The battery is still good, the light indicates it is turning on, it just stopped working on him.

Might work for smaller dogs
This product worked for about a week. Then my dog got used to it and it also picked up on my son's and my voices. So I don't think it was a good purchase for my household.

Not as I expected.
Well, I guess it works. My dog did not bark when I used this product. Unfortunately, I find it unusable as I feel like my dog hears it all the time. As soon as I turn it on I notice a drastic change in her behavior. She becomes withdrawn, quiet and hides. Since I do not hear anything, I don't know what is happening. So, I just stopped using it.

Miss for me
Ya I got this to control my dog's barking it works at stopping it but it doesn't respond to my dog when he barks it beeps every now and than and just doesn't trigger at my dog.

Do not use for older dogs
Worked for my puppy but my older dog (>10) started to develop signs of hearing loss after using it for a few days. To be clear, I only used it with no music or tv on while we were gone for a couple of hours so they wouldn’t bark at every person walking on the sidewalk. My younger dog learned quick, and stopped packing. My older dog, maybe didn’t learn so quick or stopped hearing it. She started shaking her head after a few days of use and now I’ve noticed she can’t hear the treat jar shaking anymore or her food being poured. I have to call her name loudly to get her attention. It’s quite sad.

So far so good.
I got this exactly two weeks ago and on the vry first day my little Bichon/Poodle would let out just one bark before stopping and looking around. And when she hears someone in the corridor she now knows that just one bark is enough to ''scare'' the people away from the door. Only when someone knocks on the door does she bark a bit more, but she's learnning. I just hope that she keeps on going like this and one day I won't have to use it anymore. I like the fact that you can turn it on and off to save the batteries (which have lasted a long time so far). Yes I recommend this product.

Did *NOT* work!
I have a 6pound 1.8year old Teacup Chiwawa. This item didn't even phase him At All. I followed the instructions carefully including putting it at his height and within 2 m of where he was in the crate- would not make him stop barking. The red light would flash but did nothing at all. Also...battery died in

Barking dog devise
I have two dogs that MUST bark at anything that goes by on THEIR sidewalk. Even if it is in the middle of the night. I have tried various barking deterrents, but this is small and can be placed anywhere in the living room, and it works on my dogs. Thank you PetSafe.

Arrived broken.
This product arrived broken. I called the company and they determined that it was faulty batteries, so they sent me new ones. I inserted the new batteries and the device still didn't work. It would randomly work when we inserted the bottom loosely and not all the way, but then it would stop working after a few minutes. While it was working, our dog recognized and obeyed the sound maybe twice. Ineffective.
