Granddaughter wanted an American girl her "entire life". She loved this one so much.

I'm a hero

For my neices birthday, she wanted a doll. The only criteria was blue hair. Found this and was the hero of the day. She loves it and now sleeps with it every night, replacing her dinosaur stuffed animal.

Ok Doll. Bad customer service.

The doll was played to arrive, butt I think their customer service is much worse than any I've experienced In a looking time. But still, the doll itself is good and as advertised. So the starts are for the product only, not Ford the horrible store

Classic AG quality | American Girl Truly Me 18-inch Doll #90 with Blue Eyes

I have a few of my own childhood AG dolls that I'd saved for my kids but they weren't really capturing their attention, so I was excited to see this more modern and hip line that introduces nontraditional characters. I think this is a really creative way to bringa lot of kids to the AG universe since the concept of uniqueness is so much more celebrated now than it used to be. My kids love this doll's outfit and storybook but for sure the superstar feature here is the bright blue hair. I'm not restrictive about hair color so they've had brightly colored hair before, but I think it's always fun to see it in front of you - and since they're often the kids with the bright hair that are different, having a doll that has bright hair probably feels a little bit like a reflection of them, too. To me the best thing of all is that the doll is also the classic AG quality I would hope for at this price point and after all these years of well made toys. I compared this doll to some of my older classics and, while the quality is a little bit different, it's still a much nicer and sturdier doll than some of the less-expensive brands that make similar sized/appearing dolls. Happy with both the quality of the product as well as the response from my kids!

Really cute modern doll

I’ll start off by saying I'm really excited to see American Girl coming out with dolls that don’t fit typical stereotypes and also dolls that have more diversity. I remember when I was a kid getting my first American Girl doll and how big of a deal it was. My first doll was Samantha and they only had the other historical dolls out at that time until later when I custom made a doll to look like me. All of the dolls back then were basic so it’s exciting to see the brand get a little “crazy” with colored hair. I was surprised to see this doll had a wig instead of the hair plugs that my doll had. I guess I have never seen any of the newer dolls until now so I was a little bummed about the lower quality but it doesn’t surprise me since the dolls are probably more mass made now. The dolls hair is still really beautiful and the colors are vibrant and fun. I Other than the hair the overall quality seems to be just as nice, which is good since these dolls come at a premium price compared to other brands you can buy. The outfit was also a little bit on the cheaper side but still cute and has a nice message on the front. It’s just a basic T-shirt dress with some ribbon and it’s a little on the shorter side when you sit the doll down. I thought the book that the doll came with was really cute and the perfect book for a young girl to read about making friends and how you should treat your friends. It has a lot of information that’s important for young girls to remember and I remember how important the “girls guide” American girl doll book was to me back then. Last year we got my little sister a WellieWisher doll because we didn’t feel like she was fully ready for a regular American girl doll yet. This year we felt like she was more ready to treat an expensive doll with respect so we got this one for her. I think it’s important to emphasize that these are not cheap dolls that can be thrown around and need to be treated well if they want you to continue to buy expensive clothing and accessories for them. Overall I think this doll is really cute and I love that American girl is following the trends with Next Generation dolls.

Cute but not my favorite line

I LOVE American Girl Dolls! I collected the full size ones for years and have quite a stash of them. A few of the less expensive ones I let my kids open and play with, but most are still in the boxes. We also have quite a few of the last less expensive line of “Welliewishers” and I loved them! They were absolutely adorable! I would definitely choose the “Welliewishers” over this line though. I got both this purple haired one, and I also got the blue haired one. They are still cute, but the facial features seam a bit off to me on these. But I do love the fun hair colors! Especially since I just recently let my 9 year old put a few strands of purple on her hair. (Obviously not permanent or even semi permanent, it was stuff that washes out after 2-4 washes). So she really loves the look of these dolls. Given the choice though I would choose the “Welliewishers” line over this “Truely me” line. But that’s just my personal preference.

I love the truly me dolls. It's awesome that they're making the dolls have crazy color hair now and you make them look like you! Unfortunately, I think my daughter tried to brush her teeth lol Yes, I recommend this product!

Bright and blue hair!

I have always loved American Girl dolls growing and now I am so excited to be able to have my kids play with them too. This doll is part of the Truly Me line and she is like no other doll I have ever seen before. Her hair is a bright and beautiful shade of blue and when you take a closer look, there are lighter shades mixed in there as well. Her hair is done in a side braid and I'm not sure how long her immaculate hairdo will last after my kids play with her more. She also has matching bright blue eyes and a blue dress with a hood. I can't get over her boots, they are silver with laces and I kind of wish they existed in my size. There is also a book about making friends that my kids enjoyed listening to. Overall, this is definitely not your typical American Girl doll, and my kids are obsessed with her.
