biker pants plus swim trunks

These seem like good quality shorts. The fabric and stitching quality seem good. I don't know that much about fabric types and was surprised when I received these that they feel like swim trunks. It's late in the season, so I didn't get to try them in hot weather or get them wet at all. Other things to note, "lined" in the description seems to mean that they have something like biker shorts inside, whereas the unlined version does not. I tried both and personally don't really like the lining but others my prefer it. It does have a zip pocket on the right side in addition to the regular pocket, presumably for a phone (or anything else you don't want falling out), and will fit a 6" phone no problem. There's even a little flap for the zipper to tuck under.

Spandex interior, swimming trunk-type exterior

These shorts consist of an interior part that feels like spandex, and an exterior part that feels almost like swimming trunks. This is an unusual combination, as they feel like wearing bike shorts, but also have the water-repellant aspects of swimming trunks on the outside. They have two normal side pockets, and a third zippered pocket on the right side. They seem to be pretty expensive for shorts, and I’m not sure if everyone will enjoy the odd bike shorts/swimming trunks combination. If that is what you are looking for though, these would be perfect. They seem to be durable enough, like they will last for a while.

A little bulky

Ordered for a bigger waist--but, average height guy. These are a little snug around the waist and a little baggy/bulky everywhere else due to the lining and texture of the material. They will be okay when needing something more waterproof--they feel like swim trunks--but, not so much for general workout wear. I think they are probably better suited to big & tall in the larger sizes. They are well made and seem to fit the description--just not the texture and fit desired for workouts.

Cool workout shorts!

These are unlike any other workout shorts I've tried, but I love them! They have a swimming trunk feel to them, I guess because TYR is a big swimming brand and they seem to be branching out into more general athletic wear. These have a liner so you don't wear underwear with them. The liner does a great job of keeping private parts tucked away without being too tight. The liner's pretty long so there's no risk of being exposed. They're super comfy and feel great no matter how you're moving or stretching. I like the sleek look of the waistband. The ties tuck away on the inside, leaving a clean look on the outside. I got a size M, which is my usual size (32" waist), and the fit is absolutely perfect. These are pricey but have a really great fit, look, and feel. I'd absolutely buy more of these!

Fantastic workout Shorts

These are really amazing shorts. I'd put them against any of the high-end brands in terms of fit and design. They are great for weightlifting or for more active cardio workouts. I know TYR has a long history in swim but it is great to see them coming out with so many great CrossFit workout products. The "4-way" stretch on these shorts is really nice. I like the subtle camo design, it works well for me as a guy who's never felt like full-on camo was my thing. I normally wear boxer briefs under my workout shorts so the liner is a great way to have both in one. It takes a little getting used to but it feels really comfortable and free to move. Overall very happy with the "TYR Men's Athletic Performance Workout Lined Short 9"".

Husband loves them! We sized up.

I got these for my husband and he said they are the nicest workout shorts he’s ever owned! It’s like two pair of shorts in one. There’s a fitted/compression inside layer with a slick loosely fitted second layer. They build if the shorts is what my husband loves the most. They move really well when you move and stretch. I ordered the large for my husband who is 5’10” and 165lbs and they fit perfectly. The only thing worth mentioning that may turn people away is the material is not quiet when you’re moving. Think of the 90s wind breakers and the sounds those made… that’s what these shorts do.

quality shorts

I'm 6'1" with a 32" waist and these fit great. The fabric breaths well and the 2nd lining on the inside is really nice. I would definitely recommend these shorts to anyone looking for some nice shorts to wear to the gym

Great combination

The compression shorts with the workout shorts work together great. They don't bunch up and sweat beads up and rolls off them when working out so you don't have sweat stains on your workout gear.
