Love it, but has a learning curve

I got this pressure cooker mostly because I wanted something I trusted to cook rice (this one has multiple rice settings and I wanted to replace my rice cooker), and also wanted to pressure cook beans, and I didn’t want something ugly like the instapot. It’s hard to suss out from the written materials how it compares to the instapot as far as pressure level. I think it’s slightly less but not by much. (If you read the info on electric pressure cookers, they come up to a certain pressure but don’t stay at that highest level. So who knows the real pressure level.) So far, I really like the machine but if you want to adapt instapot recipes for this, you gotta get a sense for how long something will take to come to pressure. Unlike the instapot, the timer on this INCLUDES the time to come to pressure. So depending on what I’m making and its temp and water level, I end up estimating 10-20 mins to come to pressure. This matters because you set your own cook time on the multi cook function. Other settings work well, like “browning fry” aka sauté. Generally the rice function is good—white rice comes out perfect, gaba rice is ok (a little sticky. I need to experiment). I use the multi cook for beans, max temp/pressure, works just fine. Not sure what cleaning is like for instapot. This is a bit of a pain with the gasket and all. It does have a self cleaning feature, but of course I remove and clean the inner lid and gasket by hand each time I use it. And don’t even think about putting a metal spoon in this or you’ll scratch the coating—use the spatula/rice paddle they provide. I hope this helps someone decide if they want the machine or not. :-)

Love this talking cooker!

I still love hearing the chirping, talking cooker. Overall I like the versatility and multi-functions. Other reviewers have already mentioned it can be a challenge to program sometimes and the some of the buttons need to be firmly pushed, no need to repeat more about what others have already said. I love the feature of using it with lid open to saute/brown and the keep warm works great. At first I thought it didn't have a keep warm feature because you need to push select button to get to other menu options (had to look up how to do this). This will teach me to read directions haha Great cooker and love the choo-choo sounds also, such happy sounds in the kitchen.

This is my third multi cooker in 10 years. I had basic Fagor model for the first 7 years. After it broke I bought InstaPot and hated it for a few years and almost stopped cooking in it. My friend recommended trying Cuckoo. I absolutely love it! The meat stew is amazing in 50 minutes, apple and cherry case are moist and fluffy, rice is top-notch (even my picky child started eating rice cooked at home), fabulous shrimps and I also tried cooking lobster tails. Amazing machine, highly recommend. It also comes with recipes that is very helpful and gives an idea of time to use and how to adjust family's old-favorites.

Multi functional...Love it.

Read the manual. Some settings like regular rice you need to enter the sub folder. Yes there is a smell at first. I washed all parts and put it through 2-20 min. sanitizer cycles and the smell was gone. So far it has made perfect rice - sushi, jasmine, and regular. Baked a small cake on oven setting and came out great. Seared a steak and caramelized onions. Now to see longevity. I do have another name brand pressure cooker however I actually like the Cuckoo better. The steam releases more safely when pressure is released. Also tells you if the lid is not locked, even off just a little.Right size for 2-4 people.

Love my Cuckoo ????

Pros; Love that it’s so easy to clean and talks to you Multiple uses. I made Barbacoa, sweet corn, and cilantro rice for a copycat chipotle meal. Worked outed great! Cons: You have you press the cancel And start buttons with a little pressure to operate and there is no on/off switch. You have to unplug it to shut it off Overall I love it

Rice and slow cooker

Good product, easy to use, very reliable so far after some 2 months use. Temp and moisture hold time is good, keeps food fresh and hot enough for reserving. A good product for home use.

THE BEST KITCHEN ITEM

You can cook any kind of rice especially BROWN RICE! When cooking brown rice in a regular rice cooker, it is still hard. Well, this Cuckoo is the best there is. My gaba rice, other brown rice taste soft just like jasmine rice. OMG. Although it's a bit expensive for a cooker, it's well worth it!

Reheat function stopped working...

I really wanted to like this cooker esp for the jog dial and the fact that it had a GABA function (whereas many multicookers do not), but the reheat function stopped working after one use... could not get it to work no matter how many times I tried (by pressing the select button in the middle of the jog dial...). It was just slightly colder than lukewarm. I reheat my rice a lot. And you cannot set the temperature for Reheat, only for Keep Warm (I tried). Also, I wish the inner pot had markings for how much water to add like this model: CRP-P1009SB - the reheat function works very well - hot and toasty and makes cold, leftover rice taste like new again.
