Bought as a gift
My wife asked for this. When it arrived, I laughed. It is ridiculously small. Someone should tell Norpro a cup is 8 ounces and two cups is 16 ounces. I mean sure, it's right there in the description that they're calling a cup only five ounces but c'mon man. A cup of joe for me is at least 20 ounces. But it's not for me and my wife thought it was cute, just not sure it's practical. No idea how well or it works or how durable it is. It seems to be made of quality materials.

After trying just about all methods of brewing coffee I think the Coffee press the best to brew coffee.
The Norpro 10oz press is well made and should last for years. I have 2 Bodum presses and they are very well made. The Norpro is easy to disassemble and can be cleaned by hand or placed in the dishwasher. The only thing I can see that may be a problem is the center hole of the screen does not have a center ring to prevent fraying from use. Bodium presses have a filter with a center metal ring to prevent fraying. Other than that I can see many years of use. Of course the glass/pyrex beaker can be broken. Just avoid banging it against other solid things. I have a Bodum I have had for 6 years with no breakage. But then breakage does happen. I have owned 4-5 coffee presses of different sizes and manufacturers and thus far this 10 oz is perfect for brewing 1-2 cups of coffee. The coffee press produces the best tasting coffee. I have to experiment with different times and measures of coffee but once I have a good cup it is great from that point. Biggest drawback is sediment in the cup. The sediment is part of the press process but slowly pushing the plunger down puts less pressure on the screen and thus less sediment getting past the screen. After trying just about all methods of brewing coffee I think the Coffee press the best to brew coffee. I like espresso but then that is a more expensive a and different brewing process. Drip makers are just that. Drip Drip Drip

Carafe is fragile, breaks easily.
I bought the Norpro 10 oz coffee press 3 months ago and used it almost every day since then. The carafe shattered easily after falling approximately 6 inches into an empty sink. I'm actually relieved that it broke in the sink and not while I was cleaning it because the glass was thin and separated into sharp, thin shards that would have resulted in a significant laceration. If you're going to buy this item, make sure you buy a bottle brush to clean it out and a sink mat to protect it from potential impact. Last thing - this carafe is not insulated, so it loses heat quickly and easily while brewing. If you want to keep your coffee warm before drinking, consider covering it with a beer koozie or start looking for one with an insulated carafe.

The quality is good for the price
It's hard to find a modern design for a french press and this one fits the bill. The quality is good for the price. My first Norpro lasted 6 years before I dropped and broke the glass, so it's quite durable under normal use. The size is rather small, but yields a single 6 to 8 ounce serving.

quality
I was impressed with the quality of this product, have used it for both coffe and tea, with and without power! I dont give five stars often, yet I cant think if any reason not to for this product.

It is worth the $20
It is clearly stated, but 10 oz is a small cup of coffee. There is always a small amount of grounds in the cup. The glass container removes for easy cleaning (nice), but it comes out when the filter assembly is removed. I am expecting the glass to break because of this. I give it 3 to 4 stars.

gift but seems to like it. Used for ground/roasted cocoa
This was a gift & is used for ground/roasted cocoa beans not coffee. She seems to like it. I prefer my coffee pot for my cocoa beans.
