good feel if you like to lounge on floor but need a little extra padding

I'm 5'10", 280#, and find this to be pretty comfortable. For most sleep needs, I prefer my regular mattress which is just perfection. So I didnt buy this for frequent use, I bought it for occasional use. Sometimes I just like the feel of laying on the floor- whether to read, nap, lounge/play with my dogs, just stretch out. I can just fully stretch out and it feels so good. My dogs and cats love when I do this. Then on the rare occasion if I need to sleep in the couch, I have often thought that I would be more comfortable on the floor. Great couch, plenty of room, but almost too squishy for overnight sleep. However, I need a little more cushioning to lay on the floor for several hours. Hence, my desire to buy a Japanese style mattress. While this isn't exactly like that, it is close enough for my needs. We have adopted an of state dog that I have never met and won't meet until she gets transported here. I am not sure of her house training, so I figured I would crate her, and sleep on the floor next to her crate. It is this reason that really prompted me to make a purchase. Is it firm? yes, of course it is firm, Well, "firm" because it is just sitting on the floor, and it is really just a thick cotton pad. I can feel the floor in a pleasant way. The width and length is plenty. It doesn't look like it is 54" wide, looks more narrow than my full sized mattress, but it does measure 54" wide. 80" long allows me to have my pillows and still keep my feet on the mattress. If you need more loft or cushioning, then this simply may not be for you. Maybe just buy a regular mattress, but then there would be little option for storage. Or perhaps buy a foam mattress to put under this for a little extra springyness. Or fold up a bunch of blankets as a base, then toss this on top. Overall will work in a pinch as an additional sleep option. Come with a fitted sheet. It does not cover the bottom (underside), so keep that in mind. Fitted sheet stays on just fine for use on floor (no idea how it does for use on a futon frame. I wouldn't use this mattress for that, personally). I have not had it come off the corners at all. My brown, coffee colored sheet has a suede look and feel. I like it. Mattress is about 4" thick. Keep in mind that it is a cotton stuffing, no coils or springs, not meant to support. It's padding. Mattress needs time to fully fluff out, and according to care instructions needs to be rotated and flipped often. All these mattresses recommend putting out in sun on regular basis, which I will probably never do. I had been wanting one of these for awhile, and I kept my eye on the pricing. When this hit an all time low of $79 for full size, I jumped on it. Now it is back up to $140. No smells, or at least nothing offensive. Come in a zippers tube style bag, and has a very large square storage bag with handles. Plenty of room to store in this bag. No struggle. Also includes 2 straps. I folded my mattress in half the long way, then rolled it up. Was a little bit of a workout, but I had it all packed up in just a couple of minutes. All told, it still takes up a lot of space for storing. I'm half tempted to just toss it on my bed (also full size) and take it off when I want to lounge on floor. We'll see. SO far, I am quite pleased, and it is exactly as expected, and quality seems totally fine. I didn't at first put this at 5 stars, but I as I reach the end of my review and think about what I wrote, I am going to up it to 5 stars. So whether 4 stars or 5 stars (would do 4.5 if I could), it is a perfectly good mat. I will update if I experience anything worth sharing. I keep on my reviews, so I will be sure to let you know if I experience anything that may help.

Extremely comfortable

In regard to other reviews, I think we need to define what "feel the floor" means. There are two definitions of "feeling the floor"; Definition A is that of a yoga mat, as in, you can actually feel the floor because you're essentially making contact with it, and definition B, where you're aware there is a firm surface under the material, but you cannot actually come into contact with it because the material is so thick. This futon is of category B, it is extremely comfortable. Yes, you're aware there is a firm surface underneath you, but the futon provides so much comfortable padding that you absolutely cannot feel it when laying down, no matter what position you sleep in. I use this futon as my primary bed, as I live in a small space. It's very comfortable, very out of the way, the perfect size to fit me and my room. This was a huge upgrade for me and I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase, worth every penny, even if it was barely an investment. It does help that I prefer a firmer mattress, so this probably isn't for everyone. But if you like a firm yet comfortable bed, this is perfect.

The matress cover wasn't big enough to completely cover my futon

I'll probably attach some photos later. So I bought this matress on grey or blueish color + black cover and I usally sleep on this futon. I find it vary confortable unless I put the cover on; it's not that the cover isn't confortable but it makes my matress fold a little on the edges, which in turn, makes my sleeping quality worse than it should be. I'm hoping to get a replacement for the matres' cover.

Little Thin But Great Value for Money

This is a great floor Matress and works as intended. It is light weight and portable. Alao it is a little thin, so you might feel hardness of floor/carpet. For best results, get two and stack them over each other and i would rate a 5 then

Works for my mom

I bought this futon for my mom when she comes to our house to spend the weekend because she couldn’t sleep well with our mattress (not firm enough for her back pain). So I decided to try out this futon. It actually feels thinner than I imagined so I placed another layer of duvet on top to have a bit more support. With 2 layers it worked great for my mom. So we will keep it but if you just putting one layer on your hard floor it may feel not that comfortable. Plus it is also a bit expansive to me for the product…

worth the $$$

I bought it when it was on sale. The sheet was really soft. It’s good to sleep on floor for a short time. It’s definitely not 4 inches, max 3 inches. I give it 4 stars due to the value, but I wouldn’t buy for a full price.

So comfy!

I bought 2 of these for my kids to be able to put them away and utilize more space. The sheets that came with them are so soft and velvety. I bought an extra set of sheets to fully cover the bed so it won’t get dirty on the floor. My kids love these and so do I. Other than for sleeping, these are really good to use for floor massages, stretching, etc. so many different uses for it and it’s soooooooo comfortable!!!
