20/28 Mop/Swab

The swab needs to be trimmed a bit with scissors so you don’t need to put undo pressure to get down the bore. Works great.

Meh...

Advertised as wool, it's actually a "wool blend" that more resembles cotton swabs than a good quality wool swab. Also, it uses the cheaper aluminum core and off-white yarns, not the speckled wool with a brass core that is pictured.

Well made mop (swab)

I have always used patches for rifles but none are really big enough for shotguns. A mop works perfectly. I first spray the barrel with CLP, then run a Hoppe's nylon brush through (repeated a few times), and then use the mop. The only problem is that the typical cotton mop (swab) does not hold up too well. If you clean your shotgun after each trip to the range, poorly made mops can become expensive. This one is a wool blend. It is the toughest mop I have found. Even though I was worried it might be too small for 20-gauge (because of the '20/28 gauge' description), it works perfectly in my H&R Pardner single-shot 20 gauge (fixed modified choke).

Just the ticket to keep the shotgun clean. Bought two - one to clean and one to lube. Keeps the barrel ready for the woods or field.

wool mops are great for a quick clean but especially for a final application of oil to the bore before putting your shotgun away. Also ensures you get the chambers as well.
