AMAZINGLY BRIGHT! Must have necklace light when camping; or key chain light for everyday.
When camping I sleep with one of these and a mini neck knife on a necklace (find your response gear or, God forbid, cut out of a tent). But it really shines in everyday use-especially in Winter where I am always heading to and from gym in the darkness, and then to and from work in the darkness. I also carry one on my ID badge at work for any power outages to buy time to get a full size light. I had received one that was obviously a cheap knock off...After 25 years of using the original version, the spring just didn't realign after replacing the battery. I returned the obvious knock off from another seller. This one was the real deal (High nylon content in plastic and metal screws allowing battery change out).

ORANGE is definitely the best of the non-white colors for these Photon II LED Keychain Lights
I have several of these PHOTON II Keychain lights with the standard WHITE LED bulb. I've given away many as gifts, and I've used it for many years. For general illumination, WHITE is the only way to go, producing far more usable light than any many colored bulb options PHOTON offers. HOWEVER... what if you DO want a colored bulb... in order to preserve your night vision while reading a map... or discretely find something you dropped on the floor in a crowded theater... or take a look at something without waking-up someone very close to you, etc? PHOTON offers many colored LED options. I am telling you that ORANGE is definitely the best one. Here is why I say ORANGE is the best choice for a general-use colored LED light: I bought the white, orange, red, and "night-vison green" (a sort of blue-green hybrid), and compared them all in a dark room, trying to read a paragraph of small text, as a test. Obviously WHITE gives you the most usable light... by a wide margin. RED, which is the classic "night-vision-preserving" color, puts out the LEAST amount of light, and the red color does prevent your eyes from loosing any significant amount of their dilation... so it's a good choice, but it does make it hard to read things in that red-colored light... it is very limiting. In a serious life-or-death military situation, where you "don't want to give away your position" to a sniper... yes, red is the certainly the choice, because it is such a... well.. for lack of a more accurate phrase... it is such a "dark light" more-so than any other color. (That sounds silly, but you know what I mean). ORANGE, however, produces a noticeably more "usable" light, while still maintaining one's desire to be discrete and preserve night-vision and not disturb others. Unless you are in a situation where someone is trying to find you in order to kill you... I would recommend ORANGE instead of RED, as it is far more pleasant, more usable, easier-to-read-by, yet still quite discrete, and not irritating or overly-attention getting. The "Night-Vsion GREEN" is actually a blue-green color that gives off far more light than any of the other colors (though still less than WHITE, of course). That's great... but it sort of defeats the purpose of wanting a light for those occasions that WHITE is too bright, bold, disturbing, or irritating. This blue-green color is a bit too bright. I think this color would be appropriate only for situations where you wanted to preserve "the majority of your night vision", but you were not at all concerned with disturbing those around you. For example... and airplane pilot might prefer this not-so-descrete... but still less intense than white, color option. And by the way... BLUE is only of use for hunters seeking to highlight blood and body-fluid trails in the forest. Don't even consider that color for any other reason... it's not a practical choice. So, I recommend that you get two of those PHOTON II keychain lights: a WHITE one for use the vast majority of the time... and an ORANGE one for when you need to be more discrete with your use of light in special situations.

More than worth the difference of a cheap foreign imitation
I have one attached to my pocket knife I've carried for 15 years everyday and still works like new, changed the batteries once. I also know Photon service can't be beat.

Very versatile and good quality
I ordered 3 varieties - a slightly more expensive LRI PWK Photon II LED white beam with variable intensity switch; a std orange beam and a standard red beam light. They all come with a clip. The PWK Photon comes with a lanyard, a standard ring clip AND an alligator type clip device ideal to insert any of these 3 types on to this clip to attach to the bill of a baseball hat. All 3 are very compact and appear to be solidly made. The white beam light beam intensity can be changed from faint to bright light and it IS bright make no mistake. After one excellent and technical reviewers comments, I found that the orange, red, and white lights each have their advantages and disadvantages depending on how you use them. In a dark room when you don't want to be too obvious nor lose your night vision the red beam is ideal. The orange is slightly more intense for similar purposes. The variable white beam LED is perfect for those outdoor grilling sessions when you've got a late start, its dark and the little lady is wondering when you are gonna grill the burgers for the family. No more trying to hold or position a flashlight, simply clip this little buddy on your hat bill and aim. Perfect burgers and 2 hands now are useful. So, the price is very reasonable around 8+ buckaroos so why not buy all three. Tack on another of Amazon's smaller item you've saved in your Wish List to get to the minimum 25 buck purchase and get a 4-some with free shipping. These are keychain-sized lights and fit in a key case or dangle with your other keys ready for use any time. I'm really impressed with all three. All of mine came in the OEM plastic packaging so no issues about refurb or knock-offs with my order. As others have cautioned, do NOT accept any of these lights if repackaged. Perhaps Amazon has been taking those complaints seriously and that is no longer an issue.

Genuine Product
If you are considering spending this much on a light like this then you know what you are buying. I keep this on my key chain and use it for just a few seconds every couple of days - with that level of use I honestly don't care if it cost £1 or £11 so long as it is well made and works well. This is very well made and works very well (as you probably already know) and is well worth spending the extra compared to cheap knock-offs. My worry was the earlier reviews about unbranded packaging and knock-off products. I had no problems - my light arrived in the proper packaging and I have no doubts that it is genuine. Thoroughly recommended.

Best Micro-Light
I love this micro light. I keep it on my car keyring and it works perfectly. It is surprisingly bright and can be used to light a dark path or lane easily. It is so lightweight and small and is a must for anybody having to negotiate a dark areas. Keep it in your pocket or handbag and you don't know it's there. It works either by sqeezing the body or using the on/off switch. Well worth the money.

Das Teil ist der Hammer. Man muss doch etwas mehr ausgeben um was vernünftiges zu bekommen. Alle Vorgänger die ich an meinem Schlüsselbund trug gingen nach sehr kurzer Zeit kaputt. Diese Mini Taschenlampe nicht. Hab sie schon über ein Jahr und sie ist immer noch wie neu. Ich bin froh das ich sie habe. Absolute Kaufempfehlung. Das Teil ist altagstauglich. Nachtrag: Die LED ist zur Hälfte abgebrochen und sie hat trotzdem die volle Funktion. Benutze sie Immer noch täglich.
