Sensitive skin approved. Tingles in way I’m not sure I like- by end of time just felt cool.

This face mask is a little thicker and wrinklier and heavier than some others that I’ve tried. It’s also jet black. It also tingles in a not completely pleasant sort of way at first but by end of time I just felt like a cooling sensation from it. The instructions say that the tingling means “it’s working” but I’m not 100% on what detoxifying is happening on a skin level (I’m really not an expert and the product doesn’t say much about it other than “charcoal” which is a great natural filter). No parabens. I think I’m used to face masks that are more of a hydrating serum type of product and this is just different than what I’m used to. The instructions say to apply to clean face but it doesn’t specify if its a clean dry face or a clean wet face. (I did clean dry as the product itself is very wet). If I talk it does tend to move and shift a little. I have to sort of press down some wrinkles on it in a few places every now and then and adjust. The directions don’t say to rinse or wash face after so I just left whatever juices were left on my face after removing this on my face as nothing said otherwise. I have fair sensitive skin with some minor soap and detergent allergies and I had no issues using this product. It has a very cooling tingling feeling. There are 3 individually wrapped face masks that are intended for single use. I think the price is a little high, but I do enjoy them. I might buy them again if I saw them on sale for a little less per mask. It says its “assembled” in US of US and foreign components. So I wouldn’t really say that’s a glowing or definitive “Made in USA” the way that’s phrased. Overall I’d recommend them.

Felt like a mini facial

I finally made the time for a little me time and decided to pamper myself with the Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Paper mask. Packaging was very easy to open and the mask took me a little bit of time to get it situated on my face. I was not able to get it to fit perfectly on my face, but close enough. I relaxed on my bed and let the mask do it's magic. The tingly and slight mild burning was felt right away...but it was very mild and barely bothersome. Ten minutes later, it was time to remove the mask. My face looked great and there was no redness at all, but around my mouth I did feel a tiny bit of numbness. I am satisfied with the mask and my face looked like I had just gotten back from a facial. Great choice and a great price.

feels great on my sensitive skin

This is a thick paper with cuts in it to allow it to contour on the face. It leaves a clear film, not black like traditional charcoal masks. My skin felt great after using it. I realized later that I forgot to use moisturizer the day I used the first one and didn't miss it. My skin is very sensitive but this causes no negative reaction. Because of its construction it may not fit tightly to your whole face, but if you press it on it should leave the chemical behind. I was not able to lay down and relax while it was on. I was doing errands like emptying the bathroom garbage, etc., and the heavy weight of the paper made it pull away. But it still works great and is a less messy alternative than traditional charcoal masks.

Soothing on skin

I really like the feel of these charcoal masks but they are incredibly saturated right out of the package. I'm talking dripping! I did not feel that I could wear this around while doing other things and was forced to sit back (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). During use, I did feel a bit of tingling but nothing majorly uncomfortable. I removed after 10 minutes and applied my regular day cream. My skin felt moisturized and smooth with no redness or irritation. The multi pack ensures that you will have another when you're ready to pamper again and the price is in line with what I would expect to pay in store.

The closest I'll be getting to a spa anytime soon

Many years ago, I used to go for a monthly facial and while I loved getting pampered once a month, life got in the way and now I'm really really terrible at finding time to treat myself (outside of working out). 3 kids means that having a soak in the tub is a time luxury that I don't get very often and I love using paper masks while I soak to make the experience feel a little more luxurious and the kids tend to not want to talk to me when I look like Hannibal Lector so it's a win? I'm not sure how detoxifying they are, but it feels nice to have a soak and have one of these on and I feel rested and relaxed afterwards so I'm calling that a tiny spa victory. I've got super sensitive skin.

Refreshing sensation as it deep cleans!

I have used other products from this line; I like the Carrots and Blueberries products. The Tomatoes was a first and it interested me because I have used activated charcoal in a more costly face scrub from Lush. These masks work great and you feel the deep cleaning and tingling as the charcoal removes the impurities from your pores. Aloe and witch hazel soothe and left my skin feeling dewy, refreshed and revitalized. Because it is a strong mask, I would only use this once a week or so, which means this is just about a month's supply and a great value.

Draws deep acne to the surface with no mess

This mask has the benefits if charcoal but none of the mess. The mask is black and the fabric is thicker than other sheet masks I've used, but the liquid is clear. The moment you put it on it tingles, which continues for 5-10 min. Eventually the tingles wear off. I laid out in the sun for about 30 min with this, and it was still damp. It left a residue on my skin but I wax getting right in the shower after my mask so it didnt bother me. I did have some maskne around my chin (from my coronavirus mask), and thus mask definately drew the pimples out. So it definitely works, but you wouldn't want to use tight before a big event, as it will draw deep acne to the surface.
