Hidden ethernet cable no more.
I was in the worlds worst hunt trying to figure out where some network rack ethernet cabling routed through a building. Tried the two wire RJ45 plug that is on the unit and could barely hear a peep. Decided to make an adapter and twisted together all 8 wires to a ring terminal and fashioned the key to success! It worked so well I was able to pinpoint approximately 200ft away where it ran through both metal sided walls and sheetrock walls. Life saver! I just wish they had included a full 8 wire RJ45.

Really Useful
I'm a locksmith and sometimes my clients don't know where the power for their locking hardware is. This I can just hook to a wire and listen for the tone. Then either it leads me to where the power is or we find out their hardware stopped because of it shorting and all of the wires are making weak tones.

Great tool for fixing wiring in an old house
The tool worked as expected right out of the box. It is easy to use and the signal was strong enough to trace wiring through floors and walls easily.

Don’t turn on power
It works good. Fluke is better at precise pinpointing. I had the power turned on once well my tracer was hooked up, ever since it doesn’t work, exactly right. It will pick up other wires that have power on them. Other than that it’s OK.

No more “what is this wire” again
Super easy to use ( even for this novice). Locates wires quickly with a loud sound once located. Folds away nicely as well. We used it to locate speaker wires in a new construction home.
