GOOD LAB JACK
This lab jack works as expected and appears to be quite sturdy. We actually bought (3) of them. They are made in India but the construction is pretty good. The jack is not super stable when the full height position but this is somewhat expected. Note that most of the parts are painted steel, not stainless. This is reasonable based on the price. However, a higher-end version in stainless steel would be more appropriate for many lab tasks. I'm knocking one star off because the material finish is weak in some areas.

The metal it's constructed of is too soft...
I am a field service engineer and sometimes need a third hand with certain repairs, this jack was to be my third hand. I packed it into my tool box for transport to my destination, this week it was Atlanta to Omaha, NE. When I arrived at the hospital and removed it from my tool box I had to repair it before I was able to use it. Due to the metal the top and bottom plates are made of being so soft, the top plate had bent during transport (in my toolbox) and detached from the jack. I had to bend the metal back into shape before I could reattach it to the mechanism. The only reason I gave it one star was because I could fix it and get my task accomplished. Unless you treat it with kid, it may not remain functional for many uses.

Cheaply constructed jack, bent out of box.
This jack is poorly constructed. Mine arrived with a bent platform, which makes me question the quality control the factory has over assembly. The majority of the jack is aluminum. It is not anodized aluminum, it is painted.
