this does have some nice features to help ensure the wheels are spaced correctly ...

Handy, but not really required to build a fast car, for anyone that already has a standard ruler.. but for those that don't, this does have some nice features to help ensure the wheels are spaced correctly and the car height clearance is ok.. but again, other than if you're the type of person who is trying to build a top 1% car, this is really not needed.

Should be made of metal

Mine arrived damaged and was returned as such. I didn't get a replacement because it is made of plastic that suggested it may break again. I bought it to ensure wheel alignment, but a straight edge offers about the same value. Two stars, if it had been made of metal, I might have hung onto an undamaged version.

Don't Purchase - Inaccurate

Wish I could give a better rating. First thing I did was put the ruler on the Alignment Tool up against another ruler and the Alignment Tool was short by over 3/8 of an inch at 6". Once I saw that it brought into question the accuracy of everything else on the gauge.
