son's birthday cake looks like a hot mess!

This gadget did NOT work AT ALL! I did exactly what the instructions said to do. I was very careful and took my time! And this is what it looks like. Horrible! What a disaster!

Not the way to make a checkerboard cake.

Not the way to make a checkerboard cake. We use this very carefully as directed to attempt to make our checkerboard cake. When we took the cake out of the pan the squares were warped. It looks like the misshapen it was because the cake rose while baking. The next time I will make solid layers and cut them the old fashion way.

It's a cake CUTTER!

It seems that people are using this incorrectly. Make a white and chocolate cake 8 or 9" and use this in the center of those cakes to cut out the circles. Bottom outside should be the edge of chocolate cake. The next ring in should be the smaller ring of the white cake and finally the chocolate circle should be popped in. The next layer should be the reverse and so on. Depending how many layers you need will determine how many cakes of each flavor you make. Who in the world is trying to bake a cake in this ring...smh.

It's pretty fun to create different colors red and green for Christmas Easter colors or even for Independence Day colors

Great product!

I have only used this product twice, but it did exactly what it was advertised to do. I have always had great success with any Nordic Ware product, and this didn’t disappoint. I did use a circular silpat, so perhaps that also helped the batter from running, which was a concern.

Easy to use

Using this to separate the mixed batter is quite easy. The compartments hold the batter in quite well and with a gentle lift, the batter holds nicely in place. Just be careful not to drip any batter during the removal process ????.
