Pretty decent, let it soak for hours

Honestly not too bad. Stripped the clear / paint / and most of the primer off of my R32 GTR’s rear spoiler. It took 3 soaks to get most of the primer off, and I let each soak overnight. For the cost, effort, and results it’s a pretty decent product with all of the new restrictions on paint strippers. If you have time and patience to let it soak, it works fairly well. For the price, it saved me a LOT of time as an alternative to sanding it bare.

Not nearly as effective as the old methylene chloride based stripper

The last time I used a paint stripper it was years ago when most products of this nature were methylene chloride based. I understand why the old school formula is no longer readily available and initially thought any alternative was most likely to be less effective. But upon reading label after label of the newer products and their claims with words such as "fast acting"and strips up to 5 layers of paint with one application I thought perhaps there had been some breakthrough or major advancement in finding a safer alternative to ethylene chloride based strippers. unfortunately I have to say my initial hunch was correct if this is any indication as to how most if not all of the newer formula products perform. I found myself burning tbrough a gallon in no time with a few layers?in some spots still pretty much attached to the wooden doors I was refinishing. I did leave the product on for a length of time recomnmended so I can only say it does work but expect to spend some t one came money if you are stripping something that's been repainted a few times over the years. I now recommend using one coating of stripper and let sit at least a half hour to 4 5 minutes then scrape clean with a putty knife making sure to follow up with a rag soaked in acetone then be weak out the sand paper either using a sanding block or for quicker results an orbital sander. Ps:the paint I was stripping consisted of about 4 layers including some oil based and some water based latex coats. Good luck

Almost as good as the old stuff

EvapoRust makes the best rust converter ever, so tried this stuff rather than the citrus based crap that doesn't work. Wow. 30 minutes of dwell time, a scraper, and I had bare metal. Multiple layers of paint, including a rust preventing filler type primer. It'd be five stars if it were as fast as the now forbidden methylene chloride removers- nothing ever will be again- but this lives up to the maker's name. Smell is OK, and of course no halocarbon burn if it gets on the hands. Good price, too. Recommended.

Easy to use

Just used product today on furnace vents that were in the house when we moved in and had two layers of paint on them. I brushed on remover (no fumes by the way but I was outside anyway), wrapped the vent in Saran Wrap (had read that on other reviews), let stand for two hours and practically wiped the layers away. Had to use a scrapper to get into the crannies but the straight parts pretty much wiped away. Then tried on an arm of a lawn chair that we want to re-do and the manufacturers paint which I think they spray on, came off just as easily and I only let it stand about 45 min. just to see if it would work on the chair. Will work on the two chairs after I finish the heating vents. Love this product and will purchase again.

Works well for light duty, if you follow the directions.

I felt like I had to write this to clear up some misconceptions that it seems people have. This product does strip paint, but it’s not magic. After the paint bubbles up, you need to scrape it off. I feel like that’s a complete “DUH!!” to have to say, but apparently it needed to be said. The bubbles is loose paint. It’s up to you to remove it. Now, for the review. This product works on latex and similar paints well. It works fairly well on aerosols too. It’s doesn’t do much to professionally applied car paint, and forget about powder coat. It’s just not happening. If that’s what you’re trying to remove, get a blasting cabinet, because sandblasting is your best and pretty much only hope.

Eh..

If you follow the directions on the bottle you will waste most of the product. It took me an entire court of this stuff to strip one cabinet door. What I realized after trial and error is you actually need to slather this stuff on and wait up to 3 days before you scrape the paint off depending on how many coats of paint you're working with. I think I at least have about maybe four or five coats and there's still some residuals left the paint is not completely off but what can I say I'll try the orange stuff next time. Also the smell is a big rank and chemically although not overpowering but it's a bit unpleasant.

Amazing paint remover

I was doing some smaller projects and decide to try this, I’ve been using Vaporust for years. End result I didn’t have to use any brushes at all after letting the product sit on the project overnight and just sprayed the paint off with a water hose the next morning.

Excellent

Used on powder coated steel plate. Used a few times over to get it down to the bare metal. Really like it. It stings a bit, but not too crazy if I inevitably get it on my face, which always seems to happen. But no complaints and will order it again for sure. Cleans up with soap and water very well.

Be patient let it do its job and it will work amazing

Are use this to restore a fire hydrant from the 1950s that had multiple layers of different kinds of paint. This stripper worked flawlessly, The trick is to put it on thick and be patient and wait then you should be able to scrape it off with a scraper. Highly recommend

waste of money,time and energy

The paint didn't peel off.its just makes bubbles ,I turn ON the fan because of the smell,I can't stand,it gives me headache.2 days and 2 nights the fan is ON due to bad smell.Paints all bubbles and didn't came off.

Doesn’t work as excepted

Sadly this product was pure garbage. I had high hope. I used as directed and it became very sticky and impossible to remove. Would not recommend.
