Puts a lot of water out fast.

This wand creates a gentle rain that puts out a lot of water without blasting the soil away. It's easy to remove the spray head to rinse any sand or debris or you can use various Dramm heads for different uses. This will cut down your hand watering time immensely compared to the versions with the different spray pattern options due to the number of holes in the spray head allowing more water through faster and more gently.

Garden must have

Wow this really is a game changer! I have bought several spray guns and wands with multi settings over the last year, but between a move and 2 little sneaky children I couldn't find them this spring. I recently read about this Dramm wand from the Garden Answer group and after seeing Laura use it in her videos I decided to give it a go. I am a very short person with small, and thanks to carpel tunnel, weak hands. So switching through sprayer nozzle settings, bending or trying to reach high hanging baskets really made watering a struggle. The Dramm wand eliminated all of my struggles and allowed me to actually enjoy watering again. The padded handle provides comfort, but also when my hand falls asleep I'm still able to grip it easily. Even with my small hands I am able to reach the toggle switch one handed no problem. It's the perfect length to reach deep garden bed plants and hanging baskets, but light weight so it doesn't tire your arm while extending. Highly recommend

Expensive, but worth it

This was the most expensive water wand I saw, but I decided to have some faith in the brand. The faith was justified, because the performance is much better than any other that I have used, and I've used a lot as a nursery manager. I gave only 4 stars for sturdiness, not because anything broke, but because I think it may be a problem. The water shutoff included (which works very well) is plastic, not brass. For the price, I would expect a brass shutoff, not plastic which in my experience has a limited outdoor life.

This is the one you want, some tips

It has a metal arm (looks like aluminum) and some plastic parts. My opinion is that it's just right for watering plants. Here's a tip: store it inside away from mice and chipmunks, even if it's just for a few hours or overnight. These little guys are hungry and are always chewing on things such as plastic. It's easy to unscrew from your hose and bring it in. If you don't have mice in your garage that's perfect, otherwise bring it in your house when you're not using it. I plan to store it in my house for the winter because we get below freezing here and there might be some water inside of it somewhere that would freeze and crack it.

Too expensive for what it is.

Paid close to $30 with tax for this on Amazon...for an aluminum tube with a plastic shut off valve and a plastic shower head. It works fine, although I discarded the plastic valve and replaced it with a brass one I had laying around the garage. Amazon sells the upgraded aluminum shower head for an extra $17.99. It's a ridiculous investment for such a simple and basic tool. There can't be $2 worth of materials in this thing. I threw one of these same wands away several years ago that had failed at the water connection, never realizing I should have salvaged it for its superior parts. Hopefully this one lasts longer than the fancier (and often less expensive) wands with the plastic shutoff valves that shatter after one season. Who knows, but maybe buying the $8 cheapies at Lowe's and throwing them away every year might be the way to go. Surely this one will break eventually, too.

Does its job well

I purchased this item 5 weeks ago and have been using it regularly. It does its job well and the cut-off valve is very convenient as I haul the hose from location to location around the yard. So far the head, stem, handle, connector and shut-off valve continue to work OK. However, the unit is very light and feels just slightly flimsy, so in anticipation of future problems (I have been through several of these over the years) I am holding back one star. However, if the unit lasts at least a year I will come back and update this review and add the fifth star. I paid for this product with my own money and I have no personal or business relationship with the vendor or the manufacturer. I do as much of my shopping as possible via Amazon Prime because it is so convenient and Amazon has a return policy that is very fair.

Both of these items are holding up real good as well

I'm still using this watering wand after four years sense I purchased it. The nozzle failed after the first year, so I replaced it with a Dramm aluminum nozzle. Also replaced the shut of valve after about a year with the Dramm brass shut off valve. Both of these items are holding up real good as well. I've gone through so many wands that only last a season for me, that I'm very happy with this watering wand despite having to replace these two things on it. The wand holds up well, and I use it heavily during the growing season. And am not good about putting it away during the winter. It stands up great in spite of my neglect. Highly recommended. Just understand that you'll likely have to replace the nozzle and shut off valve. At least on this wand you can, unlike others on the market.

Very happy..it works well

I’m very happy with the sprayer it works well. It does a good job sucking mud. I’ve tried these before and usually they don’t soak well. This one has a good amount of water coming out at a good pressure.

Excellent watering wand...

I own these wands in a few sizes - my favorite is the 36" for general gardening use. I suggest pairing it up with the Dramm 22731 750Pl 8 GPM Plastic Water Breaker Nozzle, and replacing the horribly-cheap plastic shutoff with a Dahl 121-04-04F brass straight ball valve (available at most local hardware stores) - this is how I have all my watering wands set up, and they'll probably outlast me.

Replace the plastic shut-off!

The plastic shut-off is crap and leaks. Replacing it with a brass shut-off. The wand itself is great. I have two.

Requires great water pressure to work properly.

Seems like a good quality tool, but water only dribbled out of it for us. I assume we just don't have the required water pressure for it to work properly. Disappointed :(

Leaks

Leaked a lot despite gasket seated properly. Felt too lightweight to be quality. Overall very disappointed with this purchase.

poor quality nozzle

The wand was great but the nozzle head cracked around the edge with short usage & leaked....needs to have the aluminum head as a standard.
