Burns breast milk

This review is for the Milk Spa. I'm very disappointed in this milk warmer. It promises to warm milk to body temp, and it promises to preserve breast milk's nutrients. If the milk is being warmed to 118°, that is way too hot and nutrients in breast milk starts to burn off at 104°. As you can see pictured, I have 3oz milk in a glass bottle from fridge temp, and that was selected on the machine. There's no way to do half oz or milliliters, either. The only way we've figured out to use it is to reduce the amount by an oz. Also, this is from my own misinterpretation, so you may think so too, but this doesn't dethaw Frozen milk, it warms from frozen. This poses a problem for me as I freeze more in a bag than we use in a single feed, but once you warm milk, it needs to be used up in 2 hours and not re-stored in the refrigerator. So the frozen option is useless to me until the babe start taking 6 oz in a feed. Over-all, I'm disappointed. This was so expensive for it not to work as intended to. EDIT: UP FROM 2 STARS TO 4 STARS. We found how to change the timer for the milk. I thought the preset time was the only time it could do. So you can select the oz for the type of bottle and select the little thermometer button and Go over the to the arrows and adjust the time. ????‍♀️ I am not always a manual reader to be honest. But I made sure to read it for set up. I don't remember seeing that information. I still only give it 4 stars because it takes a long time to heat up milk. But now I know how to adjust it, thank goodness.

Helped out in the first month

My newborn really loved a warm bottle to go to bed and in the middle of the night. Since the microwave isn’t ideal to heat a bottle up, we got this. My main complaint is it takes a WHILE to heat a larger size or glass bottle. Maybe it was truly that long but when you have an infant screaming it feels very long. It was definitely longer than the 80 seconds advertised. All in all, this was a necessary trade off to make our little happy but as soon as she was willing to take a cold bottle we transitioned her off warm bottles all together and now we use the pitcher to make a batch of formula to store in the fridge and can get her a bottle in under a minute!

Works great! Just needs 1 little tweek.

I love how fast this warmer works! The only thing I'd change is the measuring cup on the back. The ink used doesn't stand up to long term use. We haven't even had it 2 months and the numbers are all rubbed off. I've resorted to using a sharpie to mark fill lines so others know how much water to add when warming up our sons bottles. These marks should probably have been engraved.

Sterilizing

Got it purposely for the sterilization than warmer. Warmer have not used but the sterilizing is a major thing and beats over the stove. Can walk away and come back no problem. Fits good amount of stuff inside. Warmer is a bit more complicated seems like but just trial and error. Measuring cup on back is small for amount that is needed to warm & sterilize . Better to use measurements off the bottle.

Great for nighttime & for refrigerated bottles

This is a quick & easy way to heat up bottles that have been in the fridge, middle-of-the-night bottles, or both. Takes just a few minutes. I will warn you, be sure to use distilled water only! I tried purified water in a crunch for a couple days and started to notice a brown residue at the bottom of the container, and a burnt smell coming from the warmer. It cleared up once I started using distilled water again. All in all this saves a lot of time and effort and is worth the $30 if you feed your baby a bottle at least a few times a day.

It's a good idea in theory but when you have a baby screaming bloody murder 6 minutes is a lifetime. Better just to make it room temp

Super efficient

The amount of water this uses to warm a bottle is crazy. Just a tiny little bit heats a bottle in a minute. We bought this for our camper so we wouldn’t have to drag one back and forth. We’re super pleased with this warmer. Would definitely recommend.

Easy and reliable

I love this thing and it is so worth the upgrade to be able to have the water reservoir. We fill it once a day (or less) instead of with each warm up like our last bottle warmer. It has a lot of customizable options. The only thing is we had to take the little lift out basket out of the bottom because the bottle wasn’t warming nearly enough in the allotted time per how many ounces we were heating…it just means it would be hard to lift out a shorter wide mouth bottle promptly at the end of the cycle without burning your fingers. We use the tall bottles, so no issue for us.

Pointless

I bought this for absolutely no reason, I tried it once and it didn’t do the sterilising and I gave up and put it back in the box, It’s been 3 weeks so hopefully I can still return it. Should’ve listened to reviews about inserting the water in the back which is difficult and stupid.

Dr Brown's Deluxe Bottle Warmer and Steriliser

I am giving 4 stars. Why ? Because I used it and it is great to warm a bottle and sterilise in the same device. Only problem I came across was to pour water in the small container and putting back to the dr. browns devices. It is very uncomfortable and awkward. Water is going out if there is water inside the warmer, so it is better to empty and usus new water for it.

Compact and efficient

This was perfect for our needs in terms of steriliser and bottle warmer as its compact and does both jobs. Doesn’t take up too much room on the worktop either. The one gripe I have is so far is that I am struggling to find the right setting to warm around 60-80mls in a glass bottle

Works as intended but can be awkward

Does what it says on the description. I would say that it can make life easier than a more traditional way having tried both. However, it does say not to preferably use water from the tap as it can degrade the machine with time. We are using water from filter jug for this. Finally as other people have stated WHAT WERE THEY THINKING with the water supply from the back. Super awkward to fill it up. Have to do it very quickly so water don't spill everywhere

Cumbersome and over complicated

Not user friendly and lacks flexibility, speed and ease of use if you’re heating small amounts because you have to manually adjust the pre-programmed settings (which don’t give enough range). The water reservoir has hole at the bottom making it fiddly to insert. Not efficient when you have a hungry crying baby waiting!
