I love this rotating cutting mat. I make a lot of scrappy quilts and this makes cutting and squaring up so much easier than having to move them on larger non rotating cutting mat.

One of those things you wonder how you got along without

Nothing's worse than trying to do accurate rotary cutting when you have to shift things around constantly so you're not back hand cutting. I can't do much of that anymore because of my arthritis and carpal tunnel, I had heard everyone talk up the rotating mats and decided to get one. I'm glad I did. This thing is fantastic. It's rigid so there's no worry of it dipping when you apply pressure and it rotates beautifully. Not only do my hands appreciate that I no longer back hand cut, but the accuracy of my cutting has improved by 100%. I love my mat and will be getting the bigger one as soon as I can. If you're on the fence, just jump over and hit the buy button, you won't be disappointed the very first time you use it, I promise.

Great little mat, but......

I have owned one of these for several years and use it a lot. I bought this one for my sister who is a beginning quilter. This one has a precautions stamped on the face of the mat in 3 different languages, which tells you to avoid cutting in the same place all the time so you don't wear out the mat. This precaution statement is stamped right over a 2" x 3" area of the mat and some of the grid lines are covered up. Seems like the precautions could have been included on the packaging. I don't know how this will affect cutting out shapes. Seems like it would be distracting. The one I have owned for years doesn't have the printing on the mat, nor do any other mats I own.

Lap-size rotating cutting mat is handy for small projects

I use for quilt block piecework -- cutting and trimming small items accurately. Note that this is 8 x 8" edge to edge; actual markings are 6 x 6 on a usable space of 7 inches square. The 1/8th inch marks are annoyingly identical, so quick reference to the half- and quarter-inch intervals is absent at the edges. (Same on the 14" model.) Still, I expect to get good use from this mat while improving my couch-potato productivity.

I purchased this little rotary cutter to help me when I cut little pièces for my miniature quilts. Very happy that I did and I have been using it since it arrived from Amazon.ca. Perfect size for traveling and classes so I do encourage quilters to buy it. Louise D.

Excellent rotating cutting mat.

Great for small cutting projects - I mainly use mine for quilting projects. I have the larger rotating cutting board but wanted something smaller to take to Our Quilty Pleasures sessions. Easy to pack, easy to use and good quality too.

Dandy little item

This works so well right at my pressing station. I can sew, press, cut, turn, cut the other way. Great for working with half sq triangles, especially those made with charm packs. Delighted to own it. I had actually never seen it before I found it on Amazon.
