Quality Work Boot
To be fair to Georgia Boots, I am comparing these to Danner Rainforest boots, which are pretty much the best boots ever made. My criteria in buying these was a boot with an 8" ankle, Gortex, Vibram low-heel logger sole, all leather, soft toe. Right out of the box I notice the leather is just a little bit thinner than the Danner Rainforest, and the stitching is just a little bit more "rough around the edges." But for the most part, it looks like a quality boot. I have worn these 8 hours a day for a week now, and the next observation is that boy are they stiff around the ankles. Even my Danners take a few days to break in, but with these, I finally had to switch back to my old boots for awhile because my ankles just couldn't take it anymore, and this is coming from a guy who can break any shoe into submission without it ever causing foot pain. I have ordered neatsfoot oil, and after that comes and I give them a good couple of soakings to soften up the leather I'll give it another go. Like I said, all ankle-laced boots take a little time to break in, but these are extra stiff in the leather. I never remember giving up while breaking in a pair of Danner Rainforest boots. Another thing I noticed is that they seem to have a lot of extra leather. The size 12 is the same length as my size 12 Danners, but they are a a little too roomy... enough that it is difficult to lace them up to a snug fit. Again, some of that is due to the stiffness of the leather. It seems that I'd have to wear thermal socks if I really wanted to snug these down tight. Finally, I have a strangely shaped foot where, though my foot is narrow, it sort of curves outward in the middle, making my overall width an EE, so take this next criticism with a grain of salt. Though these Georgia boots are 12EEs like my Danners, it feels like that outside curved part of my foot is stepping off the "foot pad" of the boot. Now again, my foot is weird and that happens with every tennis shoe I've ever worn, but not with my Danners. I don't know if their 12EE is just a little wider or the leather is more mild, but it just seems a little more stable and "under my foot" than the Georgia. Besides the stiff leather, though, I'm being extra picky. Keep in mind that I paid $200 for these Georgia boots and I would have paid $325 for an equivalent pair of Danner Rainforests. I was trying to see if I could save some money each year in my boot purchase, but it's going to take some time to see if it's worth it. I will review some more after I've worn them every day for a few months. [Edit] It's been 1/2 a year or so now, and I have given back a star, making it a 4 star review now. I still am keeping a star for the reason I stated previously that there is way too much leather around the ankle... enough that the top lace pegs are so close together they can come untied in my case if I don't do it just right. I also am keeping a star because these boots do take a long time to break in. They were comfortable once I got them broken in, but it took a couple of weeks instead of a few days like my pair of Danner Rainforests. But besides those two issues, one of which is only a temporary issue, these boots are great. I cut logs in the rain/mud for an entire day this winter and they stayed perfectly dry inside. The footbed is actually very stable... in some ways they feel a bit more stable than my Danners. For the log cutting type of work on non-flat terrain they have been awesome. From a longevity standpoint I think these will last just as long as my Danners... heck, most of the materials are the same. These have become my go-to work boot. They just feel tough, yet I can work all day without foot fatigue. That being said, my Danners retain the title of my go-to hiking boot. They are just more comfortable and less "large" feeling. So Georgia for work, Danner for hiking. In conclusion, I WILL buy another pair of these when these wear out. They are almost as good as my Danners but I can save $150 each purchase, and they are good enough to make that savings worth it when used as a work boot.

Excellent craftsmanship
I wear a 9.5 regularly so i ordered 9.5 wide. They are a bit on the loose side. Im afraid if i exchange for a 9 it might be too small. They are beautiful and well built.

Boots are awesome
I’ve gotten a new pair of these boots every year for the last 18 years. I wear them about 16-18 hours an almost 7 days a week. The only thing is the laces don’t hold up for much more than a month. Other than that I’ll keep getting them year after year

To much leather on the top of the foot
I like everything about the boot, I think it's well made and worth the money however I feel there is too much leather on the top of the boot. They have a weads ripple and kind of look collapsed in the side. I'll wear them because I bought them but I wouldn't buy them again. I'll be going back to Whites boots

The best work boots I've ever worn.
It's been a year since I've bought these boots. They still have plenty of tread. I've stepped awkwardly on a couple of things and haven't come near to seriously, or even moderately, hurting my ankle in any way. The original laces are still 100% in tact. While walking through water the right boot has a slight seepage of moisture, but I believe this is due to the fact that a heavy and thick piece of plywood with a nail in it fell on the side of the boot on the leather and barely punctured a pinhole in the waterproofing (the nail never reached my foot!). Not heavy enough to exhaust your legs while working a job walking and standing all day (unlike steel toe boots). I've experienced unbelievable confidence while stepping on slippery surfaces. The boots have been stomping around an automotive shop where spilled oil is a regular occurrence on the smooth concrete floors. On occasion rain will cause puddles of water and moisture on the shop floors, but I don't think twice about walking confidently from car to car. These Boots even got me through the Texas blizzard. My feet were not cold while walking through snow and single digit temperatures. Walking on ice was easier, but of course not pleasant for anybody. Have 9w and they are slightly too wide but I tighten the laces as much as I can and experience negligible toe jamming side to side. I added Tough Toe to the toes which is another product on Amazon. Highly recommend over any other work boot. 100% worth the buy.

Great boot laces suck
I’m a pipe layer and I’m constantly in mud/ water and I beat the crap out of my boots at work I used to go thru a pair of boots every 6 months and these are the only boots I’ve found that can withstand the abuse and constant standing in water and sewer the only thing I don’t like is the quality of the laces they only last 2-3 months I usually switch them out with the same pair of kevlar laces I’ve had for a couple of years now overall great boot as long as you clean and retreat the leather they with last for awhile

Great Boots!
In short: I'm very pleased with these boots, they are very good for their price, great look and performance. Try them! It took me about 50kms before I started to love the feel of these, they weren't uncomfortable to start, but they weren't broke in either, honestly 50km is not much, only five 10km hikes, so about 12 hours. Seems reasonable to me. I followed their sizing exactly, which put me at a 10, that was way too huge, had to exchange. Even the 9.5 (which I've went with) is a little sloppy in the ankle, I have to wear two (thin) socks to make them work. I think a 9.0 would be too short. If you wear a thicker sock, you'll probably not have this problem, I've always liked the articulation a super thin sock provides, so I have to give that up, not a deal breaker. FWIW, I usually wear a 9.5 Nike and 43.5 in La Sportiva and Shimano, I hope that helps someone with sizing. The sole on this boot is super thick and aggressive! I wanted something durable, I'm tired of burning through my Italian handmade mountaineering boots (worth 2-3x the price of these) that have thin soles to save weight. These Georgia's have the thickest sole I've seen and leave the DEEPEST prints ever, there is nobody else on the trails that leaves prints even close to these boots. They are monster tracks! :). I expect the sole durability to last a very long time, that was the weakest link on my other boots. I've heard Georgia call this Vibram tread the "bars and stars" pattern, it's great! Secure grip, haven't slid in mucky spring ground. The boot does NOT have a shank, so.. that's either a + or - for you. I think you get longer life on non-shank boots as a shank forces the toe to take a lot of uphill wear, but a shank does make climbing a little easier. I did not like the factory supplied insole, switching it out totally changed the feel of the boot, for the better. Something to consider, I ordered August 6th, the boots arrived November 15th! Took months to ship (they were not lost during transit). I don't know if this is a one-off error, they're worth the wait, but you may be in for trouble if you need them immediately. ^^^ This review is written with ~100km of hiking, half on trail, half off. I am looking forward to this season with them. I'll update if there's any issues.

Absolutely fantastic loggers!
Unbelievable fit and finish. I always buy quality boots and work them hard. That being said I also maintain them seasonally. These boots are built like a tank yet for their obvious toughness they seem fairly light and are very comfortable. Being Goretex relieves any worries about waterproofing. I have wide feet with a high instep and these fit comfortably out of the box, unlike many other brands that advertise wide and you need a pneumatic shoe stretcher to get them to fit. My Danner hunting boots are lighter due to the synthetic material sewn in panels between leather strips. Other than them being lighter, there can be no other positive comparison to these boots! Thank you Georgia!
