Saved the coffee maker

It was a bit tricky to get it apart without breaking anything. As with most things, once you've done it, the second time will be easier. When in doubt, Google how to do it and you'll usually find info.

Perfect Replacement

I purchased this tank heater kit because my old Model VPR was making annoying loud popping noises when the heater came on. I was expecting the old element to be cracked or something but it looked perfect. What I did find was about 1.5 inches of fine white lime/calcium paste in the bottom of the tank. I do clean the coffee maker using De-scaler products from Amazon on a regular basis, but I did buy it used so there is a possibility some or all of the sludge was present when I bought it. At any rate the heater kit worked perfectly, heating without noises, but I don't expect I will need another one for quite a few years.

Works

Bought this because my Bunn Commercial coffee brewer was only heating the water to 178. Installed the new one and measured the water temp at, you guessed it, 178 degrees. Changed the thermostat and thermal limit made no difference. Still makes great coffee, I just like it a little hotter.

Worked like a charm

Worked like a charm, now it brews hot coffee again.The tank was full of lime scale also,which didn't help. Now I'm good to go for another 10 years.hopefully
