works well!

I find this works best for shedding and dirt/grime removal. A plus is that my horses like it too!

The best winter coat remover I've ever used

I have two horses that grow very heavy winter coats, and when the spring arrives, the shedding is insane. IYKYK. Over the years, I've tried pretty much every product on the market. Every one of those products have been pricier than these (some were VERY expensive,) and nothing has worked as well as these blocks. For the great price, I even keep extras at the barn in case one of the other boarders is in need. I couldn't recommend these more highly.

Works awesome

I bought this for my dog that sheds a whole lot. I brush him with this block and then with his regular brush and he hardly sheds at all anymore. Try it you would be amazed.

Good for horses and dogs

This is a wonderful product. I used to use them on my horses and it got tons of hair off. No I use it on my dogs and it works well for that too

Bought this for car detailing and carpet

I heard this item worked well for getting cat and dog hair out of carpets and it would be good for stuff like car detailing and so on. It does actually work quite well for this application, with a few caveats. First, don't use it on thin carpets - it's like a really rough sandpaper block (lava rock) and it can easily put a hole in thin carpet. With that being said, also be careful around any plastic areas in a car because it will scratch them up if you aren't careful with it. However, on thick carpeted areas, it works really well pulling up embedded hair and works wonders when combined with a good vacuum. Because it is kind of like a rough sandpaper/lava rock type material, it does shed little sandy type bits, but those are easily vacuumed up.

Best Thing For Removing Winter Coat

We have an older horse that grows a thick winter coat. This product is great for brushing her down in the Spring/Early Summer when all that hair begins to shed. I haven't found any product better than this & our horse enjoys it! Although it's important to move around fairly often so you don't irritate their skin. The grit on this product can be a little "nails on the chalkboard" against your hand. If this bothers you like it does me, I simply wear a pair of gloves. This particular one was a lot more expensive than those at CalRanch or Tractor Supply. But I needed one & live 30 minutes from the nearest store. The extra cost to order online was much less than gas to the store. But if you live near a farm supply store, I would shop there first.

Disappointed

Unfortunately didn't suit by dogs silky coat

This thing is GREAT!

Was told about this at our vet's office when they noticed our dog had "tufty butt". This thing pulls the loose hair out without hurting the dog. No sharp bristles or clumping combs that tug. Plus the dog feels really silky after her rubbing. Will buy this again and again and again!

Gets rid of bot flies!

I didn’t have high hopes, it seemed crumbly and weird to use for bot flies considering the alternative and main stream use is a knife. Bot flies are notoriously sticky but this whisked them away with no problem! I started off pressing really firmly and my horse let me know that wasn’t necessary, I eased up and it worked like a charm!

Works great for dogs!

I used this on horses growing up and loved it, so when I got a dog with a short coat but major shedding I thought I'd try it on him. I was not disappointed! Wayyyyy more gentle than a furburator (it left horrible scratches on my dogs skin), but just as effective at getting the loose hair out, and a great price. A couple tips: use on clean, dry fur - any dirt will clog the pores of the pumice. When pores inevitably do get clogged, tap out the dust and grime rather than scraping - you will lose less of the pumice doing this. Also note that this can be a messy job - fur and tiny pieces of the pumice will start flying, so its definitely an outdoor job, and I always finish with a nice brushing with a stiff bristled brush.

Works great on wire haired dogs

Purchased for use on my wire haired dog that requires hand stripping. It works very well for removing the undercoat, leaving guard hairs. Very effective and my dog loves it. It is designed to break down like how a foot pumice works. So it will not last forever and there is breakdown of the product during every use.
