Love! Buying another one!

It has glass and actually works on ice. I use it 1-3x/day and it’s great at everything from making oatmeal flour to smoothing with frozen strawberries. The lid is hard to get off BUT I’d not put it on all the way. I use it like a cover and hold it down with my hand. It’s very easy to clean, I don’t even use soap. My old Hamilton blend’s glass beaker fits perfectly- so now I have a spare! CON: 1) The old one used to stop swirling for a second so everything could fall back down to the blades. I can mimic that by holding the pulses halfway down and then releasing the buttons- so it pulses full time, stops when I release button, then resumes full time when I press it down again halfway. But I can’t do that on any of the other buttons like mix or smoothie. 3) salsa is a lie! It makes veggie slush in a disgusting pool of water. It doesn’t chop at all. In fact all the buttons are a slow to fast full blend.

If you like lid wrestling.

I had to replace by very old blender and I wanted a nice one. It really is nice until you try to use it. As a senior citizen, I can barely, with lots of effort, get the lid off the top. For that reason, the potential pleasure of using it, is diminished. The amount of effort is not worth having it. I would not buy it again just for that reason. Otherwise I would be lovin' it! The design of the lid is also a problem. I like to make frozen drinks and smoothies. But the 2 spouts on the top are near useless. The actual openings is too far from the edge so what you are pouring makes a mess because how far it has to go to get out of the blender and into the glass you want to put into. So I have to take the top off to pour directly from the blender. I will just deal with it. Too much trouble to return.

It's quieter and makes the finest frappes ever!

I bought this blender basically on the power of the reviews, which touted its ability to grind ice. I own a small expresso shop, and have had the same blender for nearly 12 years. My old blender began chewing through coupler teeth over the past year, so I looked for a newer model. This Hamilton Beach blender has a wide base into which the pitcher fits snugly, thus reducing the chance of stripping the couplers. It makes frappes which are beautifully smooth and tasty. And IT IS HELLA QUIET! The glass pitcher makes it much quieter than my previous plastic blender. Just a note: I tried to order a second pitcher at the same time, but this model is too new for Amazon to have them. There are several Amazon dealers who claim that their parts fit this model, but they do NOT. Do not believe them. I had to order the parts assembly directly from Hamilton Beach.

Pleased with my purchase!

The 4 star rating is only because I find it very difficult to put the top on completely but this does not stop me from using this appliance at all on every setting. It is not excessively noisy and I have never had noiseless blender. It is attractive and I would buy it again if needed, but hopefully that will not be for a long time. I use it for smoothies and crushing frozen fruit everyday and so far so good....

Good Value!

I wanted to start drinking protein shakes & smoothies, but I didn't want to invest in an expensive blender. I also didn't want to buy an inexpensive blender that wouldn't handle crushing ice and smoothly blending frozen fruits & spinach. After reading online reviews I found this blender to be a great value. It does exactly what I would have expected from a higher priced blender.

Lid is crap

Well if you don’t mind using a blender without a lid I guess it’s ok But since the lid fits in so completely tight to the point it crack in half after trying to remove it after using only about five times I really can’t recommend it

very durable blending vessel

We had the same blender for many years and we used it often at the bar for ice crushing and drink mixing. During recent rain storm the previous blender was in a bucket near the edge of the cabana and it filled with water which ruined the motor. So we went online and found this which is exactly what we had, when it arrived we where happy to find the previous vessel fit perfect and now we have double the capacity. Blender is strong and runs well. We replaced our previous with the same one, that should tell you all you need to know.

Wonky lid

I purchased. Assembled it. Lid WOULD NOT stay put even though photos of it clearly showed it tight. Kept rising up and would not stay closed, so I repackaged and returned it. Ordered again and same thing. Lid will not stay down. Kept this one with hopes that it will get better with use. Who knows? Seems to work fine.

Great value

I needed a blender for smoothies as my Magic Bullet wasn't big enough for some of my recipes. I didn't want to spend more than $100 and definitely not $600 on a VitaMix and was beginning to despair when I stumbled across this product. It was exactly what I wanted at a very good price - $50. It does exactly what it says it does. Makes great smoothies. I love the wave action and the ice crushing capabilities. Definitely recommended.

Too heavy jar, not practical use in Indian household.

The jar is of pure glass and too heavy. Nowhere its clear from the description and details of the product. I opted to return the same.

Works well aslong as you have liquid in it

It works well aslong as you're making something that includes liquid I love the cleaning button it makes it easy to clean was a little disappointed with the ice crushing feature as the blender barely worked with frozen fruit or to crush ice unless there's alot of liquid in the blender aswell but it's a good blender for the price
