Exactly what I was looking for

Ordered the small and it's perfect size for my uses, was a little worried about it being too small from some of the revies. I use for burning incense, herbs, and charcoal disks. I added a bit of sand as a base for my burnings and can also use it for sticks of incense catching all the ash with no mess. It's very heavy weight, perfect size, I like the properties of cast iron it brings to my alter. I was waffling between cast iron and soapstone and glad I went with cast iron. I did not want a cauldron so this little bowl is absolute perfection for what I was looking for and my uses. I paid about 12$ which seems kind of steep for such a little bowl but it seems to be genuine cast iron and is perfectly what I wanted so I consider it a good value and $$ well spent. Very happy with this purchase.

I would probably not use it for food or henna

I bought this to use for henna, as I wanted a dedicated iron bowl for this purpose rather than using my other cast iron bowl, which I use to make tempering in. When I mixed henna like I normally would and left it in this bowl overnight, there was no iron reaction that would normally happen when mixed henna in an iron bowl. See attached pic, this was after more than 24hrs of leaving henna in it. It was completely green. I’ve been using cast iron for years to cook and mix henna in, this never happened before. It looks and feels like a cast iron bowl, but it could be something to do with the seasoning/coating it’s covered in. Not sure if the coating is even food grade. I’ll try to mix the henna one more time in this and see if the reaction would happen. If it doesn’t, then I wouldn’t probably use this for food or henna. For burning incense etc, this would work well may be.

Awesome little cast iron bowl

Quality is great. Better than appears in the photos. I notice some other reviews are complaining about this size being small. My advice before you buy anything: read the sizing. If you’re not good at visualizing sizing, go get a ruler. Or even Google one. The size is exactly as described. Perfect for what I need it for. If you need a bigger one, buy a bigger size.
