Great Set, It is actually German made.

The only reason I'm docking a star is for case design. The bits fly all over the pace if you don't use some adhesive (i.e. loctite) to secure the bottom of the holsters to the case. For a premium brand at a premium price, I'd expect better. That being said, the bits themselves are great and I really like the collet mechanism used in the extension to hold them in place - stable, easy in, easy out. Spanner bits, regardless of brand, are going to be the most delicate, because by design torque is applied at the stupidest possible place along the bit - it's bad engineering and ought to be phased out completely. That being said, these certainly feel more robust than any competitor's bits I've tried. If you've used cheaper sets, you know that obnoxious feeling when an overly malleable metal starts to deform and cam out. I have yet to experience that with these or any Wiha product.

Good quality, 1 caveat

Well wearing bits lock extremely well into clicfix adapter. Handle holds bits well enough, but magnet is not strong enough if screw pulls on bit. 1/4" ratchet adapter locks well to ratchet. Clicfix adapter holds bits more securely than handle only. Clicfix adapter collar is slid forward to release bit, and back to lock bit. Most bits aren't magnetized, but a few passes over a neodymium CD drive magnet solves that. Case holds bits, handle, and clicfix adapter in place well during transport. Only the 1/4" adapter bounces around. Clicfix adapter comes out of handle when sliding the collar forward to change bits. Magnet in handle seems too weak to hold clicfix adapter in. Edit: technique to compensate for weak magnet in handle when changing bits in clicfix is to use thumb pressure downward to move collar in and out. Also apply thumb pressure to shaft of clicfix adapter if screw starts to pull on bit. (Found this out while installing light switch covers and ethernet port covers, had to switch between philips and slotted bits.)

TOO EXPENSIVE

I bought this to replace a friend of mine's set that I had borrowed and lost, so I bought the exact same set he had. Then I went and bought one for me from Harbor Freight, for $15, that has more bits. And for $15 I can replace it a bunch of times before I get to this price.

wiha 71991 security bits

I bought this set after a good time spending on research. This tool is made in germany and that is good as the company makes good tools. Now the downside is that they are stubby and short. If the screw is deep this will not do the trick as all know that the screws of DS are a little deeper. The connecting shaft is not included. The cllick fix is useless as it increases the size when you are attempting the screw. This set is expensive as compared to others that are made in china etc. I am not sure if this is any superior in performing the job as compared to the cheaper ones. Also this set is for the small screws. I would return for a cheaper one but I will loose shipping.

Quality bits bad case design

The bits are good as I expected but the case leaves a lot to be desired. Upon arrival the bits were all dislodged and it made it difficult to open the case. The case also does not latch closed so it always stays slightly open and allows the bits to fall out making another mess.

Horrible storage case.

Wiha makes great quality tools and I have purchased many over the years but in this instance I had to knock off a couple of stars for the utterly useless storage case. It seems to have been designed to either disperse the bits like a grenade or to forever entomb them.

Top performing, durable tool set capable of many tasks.

I use various screwdrivers and torx screwdrivers for various household tasks. Unlike lower quality steel, these German engineering tool hardware steel bits are extremely durable. They are corrosion resistant, have a secure action and will not bend or soften unlike lower quality tools. There are bits of various sizes in one convenient kit. The handle is ergonomic and comfortable. The bits lock into place for sure handling. The extension does not lock into place but I have found that to be a non-issue. Overally, I am very pleased with this set which was recommended by a top knifemaker, Matt Cook, AKA PinoyKnife. I highly recommend this set. Definitely a winner. Two thumbs up.

Item shipping is not item in picture. Item in picture says "Made In Germany" on case. Item shipped is in a plain black case with just the name "Wiha Premium Tools" on it. Only socket extension says "Made in Germany". I assume that this means that rest are not German tools, that is why case is changed.
