Would buy again

The quality was good. Washes and dries well and holds its shape. I have to take my rings off to make the bed, otherwise there is a tendency for me to snag it. Overall, it's been a lovely purchase. Would buy again.

There are pros and cons to this blanket

Where I live, it has been so hot! I've wanted a cotton blanket for a few weeks. What I was using is fine in the winter but in the summer, it's too warm (fleece). I saw this exact blanket at Home Goods for $45.00 and I almost bought it but it had a huge snag. I was able to feel the texture and see how it was woven. Luckily, I was able to find it on Amazon. Following other reviews, I ordered a king for my queen bed. I knew there would be shrinkage. I washed it per the instructions. I put it in the dryer on low. Every 15 minutes, I cleaned out the lint trap. Yes, it was full every single time. The blanket it cotton so I expected that. After over an hour in the dryer, it still was damp. I finished drying it on medium heat for the last 20-25 minutes. It probably did shrink some, I need to measure it to confirm. Pros: Mine was well made, no snags. The cotton breathes so I don't get overheated while sleeping. It looks nice on my bed. Cons: I use a top sheet and I can feel the waffle weave texture through the sheet, especially on my legs/feet. The first night was annoying but I'm getting used to it. If I would have known this, I probably would have gotten a herringbone or basket weave pattern. Even thought my blanket was brand new, when I opened the zipper package, there was dirt on it! I spot treated it with Tide and then washed it. Now it's fine. It's not the softest blanket in the world. Maybe over time and more washings, that will change. Overall I do like the blanket. Mainly because I've been staying cooler through the night. I have a small dog who sleeps at the foot of my bed so it's inevitable that he will snag it!

Happy with purchase

This is what I was hoping for. It has the right weight- a bit heavy. Little rough at first but know it will loosen and soften up. I like the grey color.

Thick and Heavy

Overall decent blanket. Very pleased with the thickness, weight and warmth. I like the blanket but not completely happy with it. First of all I was aware of the issues I would have with the first was but oh my! The shear amount of lint that you get off it the first time through the laundry is just insane! Was afraid I may have ruined my washer or risked clogging my drain after taking it out. You will definitely want to shake it out before putting it in the dryer to get as much of the lint off as you can because every 10 minutes you will need to clean your lint filter. Think I emptied mine like ten times and it was packed. Washing this blanket is literally like throwing a small bale of raw cotton in the wash. Secondly there are a few straggler threads around the hem of the piece that I feel should not have been an issue given the cost of this piece. As far as softness and plushness goes it is a waffle weave blanket and as far as I know there is no such thing. It is as soft as a waffle weave can be IMO. I am sure you could make it softer by adding softener when washing but when I think of waffle weave soft is not what I envision.

Be Ready for Lint

Nice size blanket, looks great and feels comfortable. Just be prepared to pull lint from both the washer and dryer. Have only washed it once so hopefully it won't happen again.

Good for summer, not much color variety

Good summer bed cover, if you want more than a top sheet. Takes a long time to dry. Not very soft, but I like it. I wish it came in more colors (but they should be the same price).

A lovely alternative to a comforter

I grew up using comforters because my family always kept our house too cold. As an adult, I've enjoyed having my home warm, but overheat with comforters. This is the best comforter-blanker balance I've found. It's not that it's heavy, it's not much different than a polyester fleece blanket in weight, but it's thinner, so its denser. Gives the blanket a nice heft and insulation, while still letting out enough air to not overheat.

Really liked the thick weave. Shrank a bit after drying on low setting. Looks great. Feels great. Good quality cotton.

Beautiful until it was washed

Loved it out of the box however it had yellow stains in a couple spots so threw it in washer. Once it was washed and dried it lost alot of fluff and pulled in a number of spots. Top loader and never had this issue peviously. Love my VeraWang sheets and their thickness. Expected same quality.....
