Not for Liquids
I loved this dispenser when it arrived. I used it for weeks (with pancake syrup) and there were no leaks. However, once the jar was empty and I washed it, I noticed what I thought was mold on the inside in the lid. When I cleaned it, I realized it was not mold, but it was from the corrosion in the metal. I tried to scour it away with an SOS pad, but it did not work. I stopped using it because I did not want the corrosion to "leak" into the syrup anymore. I think it would probably work as a dry dispenser, though (e.g. sugar).

Does it's job but the build quality is a little sketchy
If you want a cheap syrup pourer, this is it. But it has a few flaws. Chief among them is that the gate on my tends to stick a little on the lip. This isn't a big deal, but it does suggest that the build quality on these is a little suspect. I was worried that the gate constantly hitting the lip would eventually cause a malfunction, but this thing has been getting regular use in my house and so far it's doing just fine. My kids like it. It's a lot easier to use than a syrup bottle (and used correctly, it's a lot less messy).

It works for sugar
I use this for sugar - closes very tight - easy to open to refill and clean. The item came earlier than expected and was wrapped in the box very nicely.

Tiny Dispenser
In fairness, it says in the title of the product that is only holds 6 oz BUT it's just not practical to have it hold so little. I thought when I bought it it was like the ones at pancake houses, etc. but it's not. It's really tiny and needs to be filled after every use.

It does help us pour our maple syrup more moderately than when we pour right out of the big jugs we buy it in, but it gets really sticky. Definitely rinse after each use.

Highly recommended.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Since I don't use a lot of syrup, it's just the right size for one or two people, & I always have some handy in the fridge. Cap doesn't stick & it's so easy to use - no spills, no messy cleanups, & very nice glass & design.

This Pourer leaks
This leaks no matter how you put the rubber seal in the jar. We originally bought one with a plastic top which broke and thought a metal top would solve the problem. We use this, wipe it off afterwards and there is still a sticky puddle under the jar next time we use it.
