Lots of failed screws

even after pre drilling my holes some of the screws kept stripping the head going in. I had to pull out the failures and try another screw. This happened at least 10 times out of 50 screws. These may not be the best manufacturer for you if you are using for a tough job.

Unusual size

Had to join two slats of wood edge-wise, glad I found this unusual size here. To make a pilot hole for this, you'll need an unusually long 3/32" bit. Search for "Bosch extended length drill bit", they make one.

Not what is advertized

The description clearly says that these screws are 6 inches, "The Hillman Group 40037 6-Inch x 2-1/2-Inch Flat Head Phillips Wood Screw, 100-Pack, Zinc." and they are not. A dollar bill is exactly 6 inches. The box says "size 6 X 2 1/2 inches.
