Exactly what I needed

There isn't a lot to say about the product. It's exactly as I needed, a locking nut that doesn't use nylon. If this is something that you need, get it.

Replacement for MTD 712-3050 lug nuts

OK so it's hard to get excited by a nut. In my case the emotion was relief, relief from the question, why do I have to pay so much to put a new 712-3050 lug nut on my MTD-made Cub Cadet mower? Even if I found a good price, shipping killed the good deal. So here, for the same money as 1 MTD lug nut delivered by slow boat, you get 10 nuts via Prime 2-day. Now I have spares. There is one difference between this and the MTD mower lug nuts, this is a lock nut, meaning the threads near the cone end are bent a bit and require more force to seat. Not a big deal, just put it own clean and lightly oiled and it won't be going anywhere. If it bothers you, run a 7/16-14 tap through it. If you're a purist, make it a thread forming tap. Whatever way you do it, it doesn't matter, it will still hold your lawn tractor wheel on.
