Nice solid outdoor electical box cover

This is a solid and well made outdoor electrical box cover. It came with everything I need to cover my outlet. It has plates for 2 outlets, a switch and for GFI which is what I used. Will work well for in use and remains protected. I have it for a pool filter. It can also be locked so can be safe from unwanted access. I well made product with multi features and a reasonable price point.

Good, But Lacks A Cord Notch-Out...

I bought this for an outdoor receptacle in a covered location. Let's start with the good: Reasonable price, adequate build quality (thin aluminum casting but seems reasonable if nobody is going to kick it), face plates for duplex, decora, and single receptacles. The finish is evenly painted. The not so good: - If used with a 90° plug / cord, there's no notch for the cord to hang out. At minimum the casting should have included a break-away for this. Instead, I had to Dremel out a notch. - Only two screw holes for mounting (using the same screws that secure the receptacle to the box). There are 4 molded-in indents that can be drilled out for affixing to a box extension. - Kind of lame riveted-on padlock loop. The rivet get covered by the closed lid so it's not really a drill concern, but the rivet is aluminum so can be easily defeated with a screwdriver. But for around-the-house use the only real detractor was the first item relating to cord management. Otherwise I am happy with the cover.

They do what they’re supposed too. I especially like that they are somewhat expandable even though they’re metal.

Perfect for Exposed Areas

A really nicely made exterior outlet cover. Lid uses gravity to close - No springs to wear out. Nice thick gasket, but - FYI - you might need to get some 6-32 x 1 1/4” screws to compensate. The 1” screws that come with it may not quite reach due to thickness of gasket. You’re welcome!

Great Product / slow shipping Large quantities.

The product is great, and as described, but the shipping was slow. I have prime and it was supposed to be 2 day shipping. I ordered 120 pcs and have only received 43 pcs so far into an 8 day span already. Seller should not accept large quantity order if not in stock and ready to ship. I now have to explain to my customers about the daily delays. I would have given 5 stars otherwise.

Meets New Code

This a great cover to meet the new "in-use" codes. Since many outdoor fixtures, especially wall-mounted boxes, are at about kneecap level, the closer to the wall the better. This is the best shallow profile cover I found. It requires a severe bend on my heavy duty extension cord (12/2), but can be closed tight for inspection; otherwise, it still keeps a normal rain off the plug even if not fully latched. It has 2 sets of attaching holes so that it can be attached either through outlet/switch to box, or to outlet/switch separately if available. It fit the bill.

Slim and very durable

These are my favorite. They are metallic so way more durable and they are low profile so not big and bulky. Even with cord coming out of it it's still low profile. Well it's 2 years later and I need more, 10 more to be exact. I noticed the price has gone up to $15 and change so a quick Google search and I found them for $12 with free shipping. I remember paying $9 originally but cost of everything is going up. I'm still happy with the product and I'm sticking to it. Plastic just isn't as durable.

Fitting on vinyl sidding.

It would be easier to install if the cover could be removed during installation. I was trying to install it on vinyl bevelled siding and the cover made it difficult to measure and fit but it looks good now.
