Paper Plates For A Special Occasion Instead Of Fine China ... Most Definitely

These Talking Tables "party porcelain" paper plates are awesome. While they're obviously paper plates, they really do capture the look of porcelain china with a pretty gold print to resemble platinum details and wide decorative rims. The plates have a 10-1/2" diameter, but the rim is about 2" wide all around which leaves only about a 6-1/2" area for food. The plates are sturdy enough in the middle to amply support food, though the rims are decorative rather than functional. I wanted these paper plates to use instead of real china for my family holiday brunch because I'm feeling stretched too thin due to a family illness and wanted something that still looked festive but would minimize cleanup. These plates turned out to be absolutely perfect. Everyone commented on how great they looked, plus they were so convenient. I served side dishes, so I bought a complimentary style plate and they looked fabulous together.Talking Tables Gold Party Large Gold Party Plates for a Wedding or as Party Decorations, Gold (12 Pack) These are definitely the classiest paper plates I've seen and will buy Talking Tables party plates in the future.

These are paper not plastic

Although very beautiful in design, the Plates are paper. I bought for an annual dinner called “12th night” thinking they would be a hard plastic. I was not able to use them as they were for a buffet and would not hold peoples food.

I was very disappointed in the quality of these paper plates

I was very disappointed in the quality of these paper plates. They are beautiful to look at but maybe mine are defected. They all have a overlapping line on all of them in the front and the back.

GREAT BUT THEY ARE NOT STABLE

Very effective if left on a table but if you are walking around a buffet table, this may start to bend and sag and not be terribly supportive of your wonderful meal! However, four stars because they look stunning.

Best for presenting food

These paper plates in Large size are as big as an average dinner plate at 28cm across. You get 8 in a pack for £5, and the design we received is called Porcelain Gold. The elegant swirling lines make a nice pattern which extends around the rim and down to the edge of the flat centre of the plate. We think they are best suited to presenting food such as small cakes or sandwiches because that way you get to see the full extent of the gold design. For a full plate of food you really only need an edge design. We tested them out with hot and cold foods. For a cold food fork buffet they would be fine, but for hot foods/items that need cutting they are not heavyweight enough to allow you to eat standing up, you would have to be seated at a table.
