in line check-valve

purchased it to use on a 12v bilge pump I am installing in my underground tornado shelter as a sump pump. Have not installed it yet but feel certain it will work perfectly

NOT a ball & seat check valve. Metallic parts inside.

There is metal componentry in this PVC valve. There is a metal plate, screw, and spring. I needed a ball type check valve. The spring is pretty stout.

Requires upstream pressure to unseat the valve

This is a high quality valve but cannot be used on a gravity drain--it requires pressure to unseat the valve and allow it to drain.

Does not prevent back flow.

I set up this to push water up and not allow it to come back down through a bucket and tube system. Unfortunately this does not work and is not preventing back flow. For me to cut this out and send it back would cost me more in parts to now replace then it would be to just leave it in and eat the cost

Requires a modest amount of water pressure to work (like the level of pressure in a normal sprinkler line). Will not pass water if the valve is less than about half open. Most of the time that's no problem unless the application is intended for a low pressure line (like a small pump).

Great check valve however

This started as a great check valve for a ram pump but upon the pressure from the water hammer effect it snapped the threads inside the check valve would recommend for standard conditions tho
