Ratchet is cheap thin steel but

Do not buy these ratchet straps! Dangerous!

Unless you will be using them lightly. Our company bougth these a month ago. Although they are rated for 3300 lb (1100 lb working weight), the metal used in the ratchet system is soft and pliable. There is a genuine risk that they will fail under load, with a risk of injury and loss of load on the road. I have advised Stanley and they are looking into it. Stanley products are usually reliable. I suspect that they were not aware of the issue, or they were not provided with the same product they tested from the manufacturer in China.

Used 5 times to strap down a load and the stoppers on the ratchet don’t hold anymore. (JUNK)
