Perfect size - keeps food hot

I love the wide opening on this container! I usually do meal prep for the week, then microwave lunch in the morning to take to work. This container keeps things comfortably hot, and is easy to get things into. The included "spork" is nice in that it has it's own storage spot. TBH, my slightly smaller thermos container keeps things hotter, but this is still my "go to" because of the opening size. The one down-side is the lid. It has a built-in space for condiments that is completely useless to me. I feel like if the lid was better insulated, that would have been a better use of space. That said, I would buy another one of these without hesitation.

Very well designed and keeps food hot.

My wife ordered this for me to take to work. It is wide-mouth and easy to fill. Preheat the metal with hot water, fill with hot food or liquid and it will keep your lunch hot for many hours. Rubber seal is good. The additional "spork" is handy, but I prefer to use a large metal spoon or fork instead. I take my favorite soup in it and it has always worked great as long as you preheat it with hot water. We liked it so much we ordered a second one as a present.

Not as efficient as advertised but not bad.

Other reviews warned of damage in shipping. Although loose in the box, there was no damage to the thermos. As for holding hot for 12 hrs if preheated…well…not exactly. Preheated with boiling water for 10 solid minutes and making sure the soup was boiling just before pouring it in, the starting temp was 191F at 7:45AM. And at 1:10PM, just over 5 hours later, the contents were 141F. So I know this thermos will not hold “hot” for anywhere NEAR 12 hours. But it was hot enough for eating comfortably without temperature danger zone concerns for what I need. However, without specific attention to properly pre-heating as well as insuring the food is HOT when you put it in the thermos, this thermos will not hold food hot enough for extended periods safely. I would say 6 hrs tops. No leaks as some have experienced, but I also made sure to keep it upright in my bag as I always would with anything that might possibly spill or leak. The vacuum that others have complained about causing the thermos to seal and be difficult or impossible to open also didn’t happen. However, I do always leave the lid loosely closed for preheating since heated air is less dense and as it cools a vacuum could be created if the lid is on too tightly during pre-heating, or if the lid is screwed on too tightly for general use. It has a rubber gasket. Simply hand tight is sufficient. And I don’t mean Hulk Hogan hand tight! And I would NEVER leave the thermos sealed up while dirty! That’s just asking for trouble. A little common sense goes a long way.

Keeps lunch hot

Boiled water to pre-heat the thermos for a few minutes. Got my soup piping hot, nearly boiling. Emptied out the water from the thermos, poured in the soup, filling the thermos about 80% of its capacity. 5 hours later the soup was still delightfully hot and a treat to eat in my car on a cold day packed with errands and appointments. Easy to clean. I don’t know what the small plastic container within the stopper is supposed to hold. The spork and its holder are futzy.

So far so good

I’ve Been satisfied so far. Been taking it on my ski days. Food is still plenty hot come lunchtime after being in the car in the low 30°s for a few hours. The plastic piece that holds the spork came lose but not coming off. Seems quality so far. Hand wash only and have not dropped it. Wide mouth good for noodles etc

Best invention since sliced bread!

I am very impressed by the quality of the product and ease of cleaning it. It is wide enough to eat soup or pasta, just dont use the supplied spoon, its tough to detatch and its flimsy plastic. My food stays warm for 5 hours, enough time till lunch. Make sure to seal food tight right away when hot, this will ensure that it will stay warm for 5 hours.

Keeps food hot

I have been wanting to get a proper food jar to keep my lunch (if it's soup) or breakfast (if it's porridge) hot as I am always pushed for time in the morning so do this the night before. I am very pleased with the results and it means that I don't have to spend lots of money in Pret or Eat on food that I don't really want! Slightly more expensive than other small flasks or food jars, but it does actually work, so that is worth the money in my view. I might even get another one :)

It does keep the food hot FOR 12 HOURS

I tested it like this: At 6:10pm I add hot water from the tap into the food jar, as this simple process warms up the jar, then lightly cover it with the lid (don't have to twist it on), while I start heating up my soup. At 6:30pm, I pour out the hot water and fill the jar with soup, close the lid, do a quick upside down test to assure no leaks, and pack it into my bag. The spork the food jar comes with is small and kinda flat, honestly, I haven't used it at all. Instead, I take a spoon from my cupboard. First lunch break is at 11:30pm. The soup is hot, like just off the stove hot. Cool it down before eating spoonfuls. I save half of the soup for my next break at 2:30am, by this time, it's still hot but a nice, not burning hot. Another time, I waited until my second break to eat from the food jar, so it was closed from 6:30pm to 2:30am, and it was hot like it had just been packed. I ate half and saved the rest of it for around 6:20am, while waiting for the bus outside in the cold, the soup was still nice and warm. Once I get home, I soak the jar with warm soapy water for a couple hours before washing it, as it helps to clean out the smells and any dried on bits of food. Do not forget the food flask, closed up in your bag, for hours or until the next day, I know someone who does this, it's gross, and especially when there's still a lot of food left in it. The jar will release a rotten smell, or be no longer safe to open. As with most vacuum sealed food jars, do what the instructions say. If you need a food jar that will keep food good and hot for more than 6/7 hours, get the 18oz over the slightly smaller size. The 18oz will hold an entire 540ml can of Chunky soup just up to the fill line; of course, watch it doesn't go passed that, otherwise the jar will leak.
